We have to win here eventually don't we?

Happy to Save that for play offs

Just win this one and see where we are at the end.

I'd be interested to see where we are with regards to points behind second place and compare that to the number of points we were behind 3rd (the final promotion spot) in league 2 at the same stage of the season.

So in effect, 1 point more than we are currently adrift of the automatics ?

12 then, 11 now.

That they will drop out of top 2?

Surprised at that.

However, it's not exactly 100% is it.

Those are the odds that they will finish in the play offs, so not quite the same as  the odds of dropping out of the top 2 (but it’s unlikely they would drop to 7th or below).

Had a look

Sky have sheff weds and Ipswich ahead of them for going up

Surprised at that with them being 7 points ahead of Ipswich, all be it having played a game more

The points difference is only one aspect.

It has to be looked at alongside the rate at which the club in that final promotion position are accumulating points.

In the league table above, Cheltenham Town were averaging 1.69 points per match, whereas Sheffield Wednesday are currently averaging 2.11 points per match.

That makes it more difficult to catch them even if the gap in points is slightly smaller.

Think Derby will be fighting for the automatic places so this is a massive game; just don’t lose.

7 points from the next 3 games and we can’t be ruled out of catching Plymouth

Last six games we have 14 pts along with Weds and Derby and you’re next best on 12.

For some context Portsmouth have 2 points

There being a top 3 is already putting pressure on / focusing performances.

We'd also have to beat Ipswich and Sheff Weds

Can't rule it out but we have to go on some run to catch the top two

I think they're too strong and it's unlikely

You never know like, would be like 92/93 all over again

Sheff wed win the league for me, got a bit of everything but they do the big, physical ugly side better than anyone and keep churning out the wins…we’d take second if it wasn’t for that shitty run just before Xmas. I don’t rate Derby, despite our record down there it’s a winnable game. (Hope they don’t catch us on one of our bad days)

Personally think people are being slightly harsh on Plymouth just based on the ‘size’ of the clubs behind them (and possibly the fact they looked poor at our place, although I think they’ve got about 4 new players this window who will likely improve them).

Obviously a long way to go, and I think Sheff Weds will catch them and win the league, but I’m not as convinced on Ipswich who don’t look too strong and I think us and Derby are too far away to catch them even with a really good run.

I do think it will bunch up compared to the current position but personally I’d go

Sheff Weds

Plymouth

Derby / Bolton / Ipswich in some order from 3-5

Maybe a bit of an outsider like Peterborough taking the last play off spot.

Hmmm, we’ve conceded 1 in 7.

What makes you think that Derby will score 2 or 3?
