In my opinion and it's just an opinion, we're a smaller club than Sheff Weds(not much) same size as Derby County, bigger than Ipswich and  Pompey. What we might lack in attendances to others, we

We have to win here eventually don't we?

Happy to Save that for play offs

Just win this one and see where we are at the end.

I'd be interested to see where we are with regards to points behind second place and compare that to the number of points we were behind 3rd (the final promotion spot) in league 2 at the same stage of the season.

I don't think the top 3 will be so comfortably off by mid march. We just need to keep winning and hope it pressures them

So in effect, 1 point more than we are currently adrift of the automatics ?

12 then, 11 now.

I’d be delighted with a point here.

Then beat FGR & we should have a nice buffer down to 7th.

I agree. Plymouth will drop out of auto spots 100%

Will you put money on it?

Must be decent odds available, and a no beainer at 100%.

Looks like 8/11 on Sky Bet.

That they will drop out of top 2?

Surprised at that.

However, it's not exactly 100% is it.

On the subject of predictions, I'm sticking my neck out and predicting these men will win the league.

Those are the odds that they will finish in the play offs, so not quite the same as  the odds of dropping out of the top 2 (but it’s unlikely they would drop to 7th or below).

massive fookin game

Had a look

Sky have sheff weds and Ipswich ahead of them for going up

Surprised at that with them being 7 points ahead of Ipswich, all be it having played a game more

Think Derby will be fighting for the automatic places so this is a massive game; just don’t lose.

7 points from the next 3 games and we can’t be ruled out of catching Plymouth

The points difference is only one aspect.

It has to be looked at alongside the rate at which the club in that final promotion position are accumulating points.

In the league table above, Cheltenham Town were averaging 1.69 points per match, whereas Sheffield Wednesday are currently averaging 2.11 points per match.

That makes it more difficult to catch them even if the gap in points is slightly smaller.

Last six games we have 14 pts along with Weds and Derby and you’re next best on 12.

For some context Portsmouth have 2 points

There being a top 3 is already putting pressure on / focusing performances.

We'd also have to beat Ipswich and Sheff Weds

Can't rule it out but we have to go on some run to catch the top two

I think they're too strong and it's unlikely

You never know like, would be like 92/93 all over again

Sheff wed win the league for me, got a bit of everything but they do the big, physical ugly side better than anyone and keep churning out the wins…we’d take second if it wasn’t for that shitty run just before Xmas. I don’t rate Derby, despite our record down there it’s a winnable game. (Hope they don’t catch us on one of our bad days)

i'm 110% sure Plymouth won't go up automatically

If from now on in we swap form the table finishes with us on 90 and you on 87 so possible

As you have away games at Derby and Weds as well as another 6 of top 13 good luck with that

im also in the plymouth arent top 2 material, camp

as for saturday, im going 2 or 3 to derby, 1 or 2 to us

Personally think people are being slightly harsh on Plymouth just based on the ‘size’ of the clubs behind them (and possibly the fact they looked poor at our place, although I think they’ve got about 4 new players this window who will likely improve them).

Obviously a long way to go, and I think Sheff Weds will catch them and win the league, but I’m not as convinced on Ipswich who don’t look too strong and I think us and Derby are too far away to catch them even with a really good run.

I do think it will bunch up compared to the current position but personally I’d go

Sheff Weds

Plymouth

Derby / Bolton / Ipswich in some order from 3-5

Maybe a bit of an outsider like Peterborough taking the last play off spot.

Hmmm, we’ve conceded 1 in 7.

What makes you think that Derby will score 2 or 3?

Its because Derby usually put 4 past us and we've improved

So far for me sheff weds & Derby the most physical big lads all over the place

funny one Plymouth remember watching them against Exeter champagne football at times

ipswich ripped us 2nd half at theirs and couldn’t score, haven’t seen much of them really though

can’t help think if IE hadn’t fucked about making 4/5 changes per game last year we would be in Plymouth’s position
