  1. Head about it, but didn't know who anyone meant till I saw the picture. Sorry and God Bless!
  2. A minutes applause is a fad.. A minutes silence is mourning and proper respect. Everyone should do that. I hope they do on Saturday. Gary Andrew Speed . God Bless.
  3. Purge by Sofie Oksanen. This years best crime novel.
  4. Great player, great name. Drank himself to death, basically. His t-shirt lives on. RIP Great man!
  5. It's easier to get rid of the guy who points out the problem, than sort out the problem. Oldest management strategy going!
  6. Knew him years back from way before the match. He was Farnworth's porno King. Used to live in a scabby little house opposite a horrible dirty mill, without giving away too many details. My mate, a painter and decorater used to get all his donkey porn VHS tapes from the guy... Apart from that, FF is a legend. So don't pull his kecks down without finishing off the job...
  7. For those who don't really think about it. or have never suffered from it. Depression IS an illness, not a state of mind. It is a physical illness not a mental illness. And it is certainly not this year's fad. And for all the research that is done, it still isn't really understood. Thanks to everyone who has been honest enough to post on this thread about their experiences, the first step to treating it, is to admit it has happened. Hopefully when the dust has settled on the events of last weekend, what has happened to Gary Speed will be a catalyst for a change for the better.
  8. Like I said Frank. I only hope that one good thing comes out of this tragic day, and that depression gets to break that taboo. Robbie Savage said that Gary was always looking out for other people.. Marcus Trescothick was always looking out for his team-mates. So was I... Depression attacks, and I mean attacks strong people. Not weak people who sod-off at the first sign of trouble. It affects those who take on other people's woe's, burdens,mis-fortune'sand workload. It happened to me PS i werghed myself last night. I am 8st 11''
  9. Citalopram, Flouxitine or Zopiclone? The side effects of the drugs that are supposed to balance your mood tend to make it worse. Maybe, just maybe, the death of Gary Speed will bring about a change for the good. If we, on WW are brave enough to tell our stories then maybe we can bring about some change. When your only help is a counsellor paid around ?19,000 a year to listen and help then by god, we need something a whole lot better in this country.
  10. When you are sat with a counsellor who asks you, Have you ever had suicidal thoughts.. and you reply, yes, once every hour. That puts everything in to focus. Hopefully some good will come out of today's tragedy, and people will start to understand how depression is one of the worst illnesses' that affects us. We still don't know what drove Gary to take his own life, but depression is one of the last taboos's we need to break!
  11. I just watched this... and I cried too. Not ashamed to admit that I did. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15911120.stm
  12. Depression doesn't care about your bank balance, your status in life or the job that do or don't do. Depression is more fatal than cancer according to some news reports this weekend. Sad to hear the news about Gary Speed.
  13. Messi plays for the Argies. We should be worried about Valdez, Iniesta, Puyol, Villa and the likes. Interestingly, the papers earlier in the week were saying that with the talent in the team right now, even David Silva isn't guaranteed a game.
  14. If I had never heard of her and she had just come on the scene, I'd wan't to ride her like Seabiscuit!
  15. Two words lads, ...From Behind!
  16. Would you... Now that she has become an ex-chubby? http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2011/06/09/dawn-french-shows-her-weight-loss-at-glamour-awards-2011-115875-23189338/
  17. ... and he gave us payback for that Wembley Fiasco. OC is still the man to lead the team, never mind what you doubters think. As they say, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". Get in!
  18. Knew him quite well from down the years. kept a great pub with a tidy cellar. No doubt his send-off will be a big, big occasion. Sad loss for the town of Bolton.
  19. Dear Jim, it's Owen here. Can you help me..... err I'll get me coat!
  20. Mad as toast. A one-off total eccentric genius. English to the core God Bless!
  21. Tell em you are a Jehovah's witness and twat them round the head with a rolled up copy of the Watchtower.
  22. and Kosovo is where we get all our sex-traffickers, whores, dealers, and car-washers from. If we didn't protect our interests there, our whole black-economy would tumble!
  23. ...and proven Oil reserves to keep good old Western Democracies on the go. Sadly neither Rwanda or Zimbabwe could/can offer any great amount of natural resources to the World economy, so they can go to hell in a handcart.
