  1. Blatantly shameless plug but if any of you are looking for a present for the wanderers fan that has everything. This is a bit different. BWFC lowry inspired print Selling it as I'm under the thumb and apparently it does not fit in with "our" taste in decoration for "our" house.
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2214547/Paul-Wood-loses-testicle-Grand-Final-defeat-Warrington.html Still the definition of hard as nails for me.
  3. Guy i know who runs a taxi firm swears by them, yes they have been a bit battered but the upkeep and replacement of parts is second to none especially in the proper pursuit cars. And they tend to be serviced more regularly than manufacturers advise.
  4. http://hubblesource.stsci.edu/sources/illustrations/ Contains the original images take by Hubble, Some a huge files but well worth a download.
  5. I stopped but sort of without stopping. Swapped to an electronic one (skycig) been using it since november and have never touched a cig since. yes i am still addicted to nicotine but at least i am not taking in all that tar and crap like that. Worth a look for people who just want to be a bit healthier way of getting your fix
  6. Simply because you are not allowed to bring previous charges into a current case. The jury is supposed to take the case on merit and not his history. How ever be fair to the jury, there was no evidence whatsoever to prove that the copper did it. Well unless you discount the video of HIM F*CKING DOING IT, but other than the nowt... Disgraceful ruling.
  7. Well a lot of places wont employ you without the qualifications so they are fairly handy to have. an entry level employer will always pick someone with qualifications over ones that don't if the experience level is the same. But i will definitely agree that the 'courses' advertised on the telly are overpriced bullshit, you would be better off just buying a book, a couple of old machines, practice softtware/exams and then just paying the exam fees.
  8. Stone roses Friday night then straight onto Beatherder for the rest of the weekend. Already decided that next week will be a total write off.
  9. If any of you have Sky Anytime+ there is a couple of great documentary's on there from Sky Arts. One about the Folsom prison gig and i think the other more about his life, there is also one that i think is his gig at San Quentin prison. That is one of my favourites, absolute comedy gold.
  10. Yeh readheads are great, Though i am not sure that what i am most drawn to in this lass..
  11. used to be an old trick with calls centres to get them to answer faster, Basically keep ringing get on hold for a few seconds and hang up. Because majority of call centers use 'metrics' to determine performance one of the things that factor is dropped calls, if you create a shed load of dropped calls on the metric system the managers start to get grief and are more inclined to push extra staff onto the phones to rebalance it. Or with bigger firms it will start diverting automatically to their secondary call centers. Used to work a treat with NTL
  12. Never stayed at the campsite but we had a boat on the lake at watermillock, just down from the brakenrigg hotel that you will turn up past. Lovely bit of the world Couple of decent pubs for food round there though (though not been for a while i admit), The royal at docray, horse and farrier at dacre. I you want to do a bit of walking do the howtown to glenridding walk or go up aira force. You can get the steamer from pooley bridge to howtown, walk to glenridding, then get the steamer back from glenridding to pooley bridge. Its a long walk though. There is also a road out of the back of howtown that is a brilliant drive loads of hairpin switchbacks and from the top of that road you can then climb the hill and you get an absolute belter of a view back down the lake. Also if you go to ullswater marine (just as you get into watermillock on the left) you used to be able to hire little motorboats. Incidentally if you want to do fishing with the kids you need a licence, many tourists don't realise and get fined pretty badly. Also when you are heading home i recommend going back over the kirkstone pass and along windermere, long but much more enjoyable road than the M6.
  13. Took a cruise round the island with circle line i think, was really quite nice. Take in a show if you can at night, use the TKTS booth in time square can get you some proper cheap tickets to stuff Good restaurant i went to with the missus was a place called virgils http://www.virgilsbbq.com/, go hungry, you will be filled up no problem. If your feeling like taking in a rare bit of culture check out whats on at the Guggenheim or MOMA (some proper weird modern art in there, but some of it is really good), on the east side of central park For me Ellis island was a bit boring, would only bother with if you are really interested in american history. Especially if you have limited time, i just used the. there is a ferry that heads right past it (staten island ferry i think)
  14. For me i reckon it will be us Blackburn and Wigan fighting it out to avoid the the last relegation spot. Wolves are utter gash and cannot see them pulling it back with inexperienced manager and a captain who turns up for training hammered. And QPR's run in is just a shocker, barring some flukey results i just don't see them getting points from much more than 2 or 3 games. Blackburn have a decent goalscorer in the Yak and i reckon he will help them just about survive. Wigan are looking pretty good at the moment, just not had the rub of the green. Either way it isn't going to be too comfortable for the next few weeks
  15. Not really but if they join the army they are agreeing to take that risk to protect Britain and its colonies. Would rather see them doing that than fighting america's wars like they are now. As for all these fame whore celebs they are simply falling into the massive pr distraction repeatedly caused by the presidents of Argentina, every time their country collapses they bring up the Falklands to divert their populations attention. Ask the Islanders what they want after all it is technically their land being born and bred there. If they want to live under a British flag then our forces need to defend that.
  16. The same guy who did this as a suprise for his girlfriend, http://youtu.be/76PJRhGr2_c Shit doesnt always go to plan though http://youtu.be/g5nlOdxZt_4
  17. Personally i am in the camp of we should always try in the cups, getting done by Chelsea (or any big team) isn't as bad as you are not expected to win, problem last year was that we were embarrassed by Stoke which is going to crush any confidence. Good run in the cup can help imo. And lets be honest resting players has never worked at Bolton, remember the uefa cup then wigan debacle
  18. If you have HD package or sports package then no. Looking forward to it myself. Its one of the sports that the English are actually half decent at.
  19. Drove under a parked up flatbed wagon on ladybridge estate. Winter morning, low sun, bit icy all the tell tale signs that an accident could happen. Came round the bend, got blinded by sun and the truck had stopped literally 2m round a blind bend. Don't know how but i still had my head even though the back of the wagon had come through the windscreen, got out of it with a bit of bruising and some major whiplash. Ironically he had stopped as it was the first day that the ban on mobile phones had come in so he was being "safe", had it been the week before he wouldn't have stopped. Bloody safety laws my arse!
  20. I was at the game yesterday and have to say you were lucky to get out with that scoreline. Summed up by your coach saying you only had the ball 9 times in the entirety of the first half. I reckon though you did score a couple of decent enough tries but like you say shambolic defending and poor discipline just killed you in the first 50mins. The super league show thing on sky was saying one of the suspended players is out for a longer time because of a broken jaw, sounds like the no boozing rule was broken and someone got a bit fighty. Fair play to leeds though, hammered Manly, not sure i would want to be facing them next
  21. I assume their contract would be deemed void and they will fall under the 'under no contract' rule but then that might be if it only goes completely bust.
  22. http://objectiveministries.org/shutdown/ Seems like there is a couple of grumpy christians about this site, though i like the way that after 2003 they seemed to lose interest in the holy war Absolute brilliant find though.
  23. Fair enough, thought it was at an Everton match for some reason. I stand corrected
