The Managerial Roundabout

Shrewsbury potting Cotterill is an odd one,

Spurs possibly seeking a new manager around Christmas, not sure how he will do.

Gerrard to Leeds is rumoured.

Uri Geller to Wigan?

I know he’s not a manager but Standard Liege fans seem gutted we’ve got Fergal Harkin to the extent that some are saying he saved them from relegation despite having no budget. Sounds positive.

  • Are you serious? The guy brought us some fucking brilliant moments  that we’ll never forget. Yeah, it didn’t end up great but ffs.

Looks like Skubala is going to Bristol City.

Be interesting to see who Lincoln bring in. Promotion from within? Or will Skubala’s whole staff move with him?

Bit strange that one

Bristol City were interested but they decided to offer it to someone else who turned them down

Not getting the job he signed a new contract at Lincoln

Now they are back in for him but will cost them a lot more in compo because of the new contract

Hopefully promotion from within, to give us a better chance of finishing above them, because that rarely works.

If they've any sense they'll get a proven manager in, could see them going for someone like Paul Warne.

I can't imagine they'll be able to afford much better to be fair.. There are some decent out of work managers about, but I would think some would rather wait for another opportunity than tie themselves in at Lincoln.. Steve Cooper for example

Warne will be on a fair wage at MK and they are loaded

And his track record in the championship is piss poor

TBH I forgot he was MKD!

It was just an example, but its not based on anything other than the profile of established manager that they could easily attract (if they were available).

Let's hope they make the wrong appointment, I never thought we'd be going into a season hoping Lincoln under achieve 😀

They have given the job to Skubala's assistants.

It has to be a big blow for Lincoln that. It'll rock the boat enough for one or two or more of their players to leave and far from impossible Skubala will be one of those signing them.

Surely he's going in for that Moylan. He's a player him

Perfect, not just one non-manager but two.

Let's hope they don't realise/admit their mistake till at least Christmas.

Skubala will be fine as long as they are in the top 8 and don't lose 3 on the trot.

They’ve probably given the job to Skubala’s assistants so that they can look after things until he’s back at Christmas after being sacked?

Bristol City has a lot of potential as a club, to be fair

Haha. Who's to say they'll still be there?

Certainly a lot of unrealised potential.

I thought it was only me thinking this. I think it’s a good move for him

SS was assistant to Lowe at one point.

Yes a potentially huge fan base but for some reason they’ve never been able to benefit from it. Even Thommo turned them down to stay with us at a lower level so that probably tells you something? I suppose though that if Lincoln were struggling at Christmas Skubala knows that he would probably be binned so he might as well take the money now and hedge his bets.

He wasn't even first choice for the job.
The rumour was that he was being offered it and then they offered it to someone else, so he signed a new deal at Lincoln.
Bristol's first pick pulled out/didn't pan out and they came back for Skubala.
At least Lincoln will get a bit of compo.

Thanks for delivering the title boss, but the right time to move on
