Scott Parker has left Burnley.

top managers consistetly win things, that's basically it

arteta's teams keep throwing away great opportunities, and that's why they are seen as bottlers

pep might not always win titles, but he's won everything over and over again at 3 different clubs

it's like saying you can't judge ferguson because he only ever won things with utd, but sometimes didn't win things

as you say, they may yet walk away with a title and the CL, but we've been here before with them

I'd argue what he did with Aberdeen was as impressive. Other than his stint in charge, your going back over 60 years since its been other than Old Firm*

*Dundee Utd won one title whilst he was in charge of Aberdeen

Fair point though it's also Scotland so doesn't count

It's a league where Gerrard was invincible

No surprises about Scotg Parker though, tbh, I never got why he had the job in the first place.

It'd be good to see an ownership one day say "he was on a hiding to nothing but he did all he could & we're sticking with him".

His record of getting clubs promoted from the championship probably played a part

Parker's Burnley's defence was genuinely astonishing in the Championship.

Then this year they have the worst defence in the PL!

Its one of those though, how much was it down to him and how much would those clubs have gone up anyway?  Fairly sure every promotion was helped by parachute payments and/or having a shit hot squad for the championship - Fulham, Bournemouth, Burnley.

It would be interesting to see him manage a "normal" club like a Bristol City or Millwall or come down to L1 and manage Barnsley etc.

True but his CV says promoted three teams at the first point of asking

Getting  Burnley up with 100 points and not concede more than one goal in a match suggests he has something about him

Might have been awful to watch and the prem is a step too far but you can't knock records like that

It would be interesting to see Pep manage Grimsby and see how he gets on but we won't

Also says a lot about James Trafford
