The Managerial Roundabout

Shrewsbury potting Cotterill is an odd one,

Spurs possibly seeking a new manager around Christmas, not sure how he will do.

Gerrard to Leeds is rumoured.

Uri Geller to Wigan?

I know he’s not a manager but Standard Liege fans seem gutted we’ve got Fergal Harkin to the extent that some are saying he saved them from relegation despite having no budget. Sounds positive.

  • Are you serious? The guy brought us some fucking brilliant moments  that we’ll never forget. Yeah, it didn’t end up great but ffs.

If Rovers want to go down the ex-manager/player route, Mark Hughes has left Carlisle.

He only got 95 points with Carlisle this season so clearly he failed 😀

Former player & current Kenya manager Benny McCarthy plans to chuck his hat in the ring.

That spells 6 months of crisis.

EFA.

I am not that bothered by Stockport but we really have got revenge and more for that dreadful FA Cup saga just after the pandemic and the consecutive league wins they had v us once they reached League One. Their fans had got a bit cocky.

You're right their fans did seem surprisingly cocky around the POF. I watched a few vox pops and whereas Bolton fans were generally saying stuff like 'it will be tight', '1-0 or 2-1' and 'might go to penalties', I was struck by the number of Stockport fans saying '3-0' or '3-1' and just coming across as OTT confident.

Anyway 4-1 to the Mighty Whites so fuck 'em. They can try and lord it over Bromley next season instead 😁

Reminded me of us v Oxford in 2024

Now that Challinor’s gone I very much doubt they’ll be lording it over anyone. Back to L2 for County I think.

Aye.

A number of players going to from what I've seen. A squad rebuild.

Maybe it's a cloth cutting exercise.

Great news for Karl Robinson.

Without dissecting his career or strengths and weaknesses, he's better than managing a club with 1,500 fans.

talk of robbie keane being denied the celtic job this morning because he managed in Israel, what a world

Wouldn’t they have known that before approaching him though if it was an issue?

Very much that. They weren’t arsed when Nir Bitton played for them and he served in the IDF ffs

Israel has National Setvice. Everyone serves in one way or another. (Except 'Religious' Jews of very specific definition who spend three years studying the Torah).

Those who wish not to fight go into one of the regimented service industries instead.

Or Liel Abada, who was playing for them as recently as 2024

Stockport will be asking.

"Tell me something, Jimmy. How exactly do you think it all ends? ... A parade? A gold watch? A shining Jimmy-McNulty-day moment"

That's slightly annoying, I really like him and rate him. Good news that he's back in good health.

He got sacked by WBA but he was only there 3 months.

A good appointment, but they will probably pot him if they lose 3 on the trot.

I haven’t stopped laughing. Nice bloke but smacks of what’s coming for them. Can’t wait
