Not a fan of being able to set your watch by Charles getting taken off either.

I suspect with all the monitoring we do, we know when charles is more likely to break

Id guess we are doing what we can to get more minutes from him, but if thats where hes at most risk, im all for protecting him

Hes too important

It’s somewhat dogmatic that this happens regardless of the state of the game being played.

Toal & Forester for Iredale and Jones please.

That was 2 points dropped today, don't give a shit, we're aiming for top 2 and we played bottom of the league today and only managed a draw.

Not good enough.

Also, can somebody please tell me why the fuck Evatt would take off our 2 best strikers and replace them with Nlundulu and Jerome who have how many goals between them?

Toal is a quality player imo. Hope he’s back in soon.

"Give Iredale a rest". He's played 4 games??

I think he means drop him

Fwiw, iredale looked more damaged than most by wigan, but i def thought he got better after a proper scary start

Ok, I’ll be less polite. He’s had two shockers, so he needs to be dropped.

The quicker Bod can get up to speed the better if that does ever happen with his recent injuries.

Victor was poor last season but this season despite his miss today he looks much fitter, looks strong and I thought he held it up much better today against a bunch of Burton defenders around him.

Him and Charles could get us 20 goals each, Bod if fit 10/15. But the other 2, Jerome and Dan just look so poor, neither of them fit our pressing style, nor can they finish or even provide something different, they're just gash.

I know you are teeing yourself up for an evening but come on that’s bollocks and you know it. I’m referring to the 2nd sentence for clarity

Seems like you're the one teeing yourself up for an evening. Enjoy. 👍

It's a poor do if we're saying he can't complete 90 minutes after having a week off.

They love a sponsor that club.

Victor should never be missing chances like that, unacceptable.

I actually thought Charles botched his chance much worse in the first half, no idea what he was trying to do. Adebeyejo, instinctively hit it well, on target and keeper made a good save

It was a fucking dreadful miss.

Was Dempsey a little quiet today?

Definitely. Think he got a knock/twist on his back, or maybe I’m looking for excuses as I thought he was our least effective midfielder out there today.

Evatt must be scratching his head. No way to predict or anticipate, Dempsey playing like that today.

No one is going to be top banana each time. Especially if opponents focus on them.

Oh, come on

You have to expect a centre forward to put this away

I agree and I’m certainly not on a witch hunt, far from it, Dempsey is integral to what we do.

Typical though isn’t it, last week Dempsey is the only one who has a good game, today he’s caught in possession at key times, gives the ball away for a goal and isn’t the same robust self he usually is.

It’s a case in point that you can criticise Evatt all you want, but nobody  would have had Dempsey out of the team today, but it in hindsight Mendez-Gomez in that 10 role ahead of Thomason (who did well breaking play up and leading by example) and Maghoma (who was excellent today carrying the ball forward with purpose) would have been more effective. But that would have been a ridiculous gamble and crazy selection.

Easy after the event isn’t it? Let’s all criticise and say what should have happened.

Marathon, not a sprint. If we are judging this as where it fits for league contenders, then judge it against everyone else.

We are 3rd, 2 points off top of the league.

Yes, but show me the one from Charles and tell me the above is worse

It might've been

But you're not claiming Charles' was "instictively hit well"

Vic's attempt was rank bad, irrespective of what Charles did

Posted

Rank bad is missing the ball completely or putting it wide with keeper diving the opposite way. He hit it hard, on target and the keeper made a great save. Yes he should have hit it higher, as he did with all 3 the other week. Or he should have hit it a bit lower and further in the corner and keeper doesn't stand a chance. But that isn't rank bad

On replay, I thought he did and good save. One or two others above agree/disagree - opinion.

And don’t get me wrong at the time I’ve got my head in my hands saying how did he miss it.

I suspect Adebeyejo will get far more criticism and his video will be replayed and showed more times than Charles’ abject effort where he completely fluffed his opportunity.

A miss from six yards out with half the goal gaping wide open is always going to attract more attention, though
