Unfortunately, due to the inept performance last Saturday, the players have increased the pressure even further. My point is, if they don't get at least 4 points from the next 2 games, that pressure will increase further..... Nobody will be 'adding that pressure' it will be automatic, based on their performances and results. Was it ever thus! Quote

Also their league results since Wembley. Brilliant reaction to massive disappointment. They are the traits you need if you’re going to be top 2 all season. They will be playing under intense pressure this season as the expectation is so high. If you can’t stand the heat…… I agree, but I doubt you will see the top 3 sides get 96 plus points again for a while we will be ok at Burton let’s see after v Derby & Peterborough if we’ve learnt owt Quote

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 22, 2023 Site Supporter Posted August 22, 2023 I think Evatt and his team have made it clear that promotion is the aim, and that inevitably adds pressure to the players from the off. They will have to handle it, and he's ratcheted the rhetoric up a bit with his comments. Quote

We get beat at Burton and then home to Derby the good will wont last long. Once that rot sets in its hard to turn it around, especially if teams get wind we arw weak as piss, vulnerable but still trying play fancy football. Need to bounce back pronto. Quote
Rizlar Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Thrash Burton Saturday all is forgiven until we play Wigan again. Quote

If (when) we beat Burton, Derby will be a 'must not lose'; ideally we beat them but a draw would be acceptable. If we lose at Burton, the pressure will really be on and Derby becomes a 'must win at all costs'. Derby aren't a great team, short of depth and lost three key players to injury The bloke who scored their goals last season has gone Quote
Marc505 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Aye Derby fan at work was telling me they're starting to turn on their manager. Darren Moore was watching on from the stands v Fleetwood too. Quote

Ah, well it could easily have just been the Oxford game he was at then. Work lad made it sound like Fleetwood, but he doesn't actually go that often 👀 Quote
Whitesince63 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 We must win at Burton because if after Saturday we allow an injury ravaged bottom of the league Burton team to beat us it will totally destroy any confidence the players have after that Wigan mess. A good win on the other hand will restore confidence before the Derby game and that’s what I’m expecting. Quote

marple whites Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Flaming hell - first away for me, trains booked now having to drive (to burton again) crap place to get to. please give me 3 points for a change - not seen a win in 3 visits ! Quote
Marc505 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 First taste of the seated bit for me this time, I did ask for terrace but sent me seated by mistake. Oh well, I usually come away from the terrace at Burton pissed off at hearing songs about Dempsey twatting people, Burton's keeper being a paedophile and any number of our lads having big cocks. So I'll go and sit with the Coach 1 firm. Quote
