Probably a good job decisions aren't made on friendlies against a bunch of kids really.  We could read back comments from those cup games against U21s and there would be players in the 1st team now th

How do they decide the number of points to deduct? It’s like the FA are just toying with Everton but also with the clubs around them.

Fucking hell! It’s a joke!

Thanks for explaining even though it shouldn’t have been required.

Mad thing is Micky that I reckon this won’t be the last punishment. Talk of it rumbling after the season.

I hate VAR so much. These are the people who are ruining our elite football with their ‘look at my legacy’ bollocks. All stems from the same reason of protecting the ‘big clubs’ and being edgy fuckwits craving the global audience/revenue

I'm not sure about Arsenal and Chelsea but City's is a much bigger case with many more charges and will take longer to resolve

I think

I think City's is more complicated because they're accused of inflating income from affiliated companies to prevent overspending, whereas Everton and Forest simply overspent.

I think.

Don't think Arsenal are being juiced are they? Someone pls correct me if otherwise.

The thing about FFP is no one seems to care and will over spend anyway

If it didn't affect so many people and businesses at the bottom of the chain I'd say spend what you like and when you go pop it's off to the national League you go

Should be told that a failed appeal could lead to extra points deducted.

I get that Everton couldn't have foreseen terminating a sponsorship deal with a Russian business but someone at Forest must have known they were never going to comply

Probably thought they'd just get a slap on the wrists and told not to do it again

How can a team as terrible as Everton still stay up with an 8 point deduction :D

Worst standard of premier league ever.

Worst standard of premier league ever.

I looked at PL table on BBC yesterday where it shows the last 5 results for each team on the right hand side, just a sea of red from mid table down.

The prem is so so bad.

We have won 1 game this year, had an 8 point deduction and STILL moved UP the league.

Utter wank league.

I think that because no two Prem clubs have the same value, cost base, wage bill or anything the PL can't have a set punishment scale.

In short they haven't a clue and need to be seen to punish clubs in public, whilst causing the least disruption for the Prem top brass.

Well, Billy Crellin's still on their books.

I think back how he was treated and it’s pathetic. Feel sorry for the lad as he wasn’t ready, not his fault. He’s now 23?

Yes, 24 this month, has a further year on his contract.

Age will not have helped him. Neither would his near total lack of abilty for the level. Once on the team sheet 'being young' doesn’t count.

What IE & Matt Gilks were thinking I cannot fathom. He was #3, possibly even #4, at Fleetwood ffs.

You're right, he deserves a degree of sympathy & it was feasible his career could have been over by being exposed too soon. But he really, really was shite.

He was an England youth international, to be fair

But he was clearly well below the required standard

He's son to be 24-years-old and, since signing for Everton, hasn't had any loan spells anywhere or made any senior appearances, yet despite that he signed a new two-year contract in September

All a bit strange

I dunno if it’s just a keeper thing? Obviously I’ve a vested interest as that was my ‘best’ position and my lad plays there- but going back to Aidan Davison, perceived 2nd choice keepers get pelters- this guy played top flight and internationally. I get Crellin came in as number 1, but he got dogs abuse- as have Dixon and Coleman since

Crellin and Coleman were both chucked in at a time when we all could have got a run out in our defence.

Go on then… I’ll bite: how are they shite? Please identify their weaknesses and how you would improve them?

Crellin was shite. Too small, seemed to forget where his goal was at times and couldn't make basic saves.

Coleman isn't shite, he's just not good as Baxter.

If I have to explain how Crellin & Dixon are shite you need counselling.
