I'm going to go to Blackpool, Derby and Rotherham every time we play them until we win. Surely it has to happen in my lifetime

Depends how old you are

Even taking the biggest rivalry question out of it (which isn’t even a question…), I think you’d have to go with Wigan as that would leave us in a better place going in to the next run of games.

4 points from 6 is a perfectly acceptable target, I reckon.

Wigan because they need reminding of what they are and Who we are.

We shouldn't be being mentioned in the same breath as that skidmark of a club.

Blackpool  hate us and we are well overdue a win at Bloomfield road . But they are a proper club and Blackpool v Bolton is a proper old school Lancashire derby and the fixture itself is worthy of respect.

Wigan need stamping on and forgetting about.

Rested a few to be fair, whilst Posh went full strength.

That says a lot about that competition, resting players for a semi final when the final's at Wembley?

Anyway we rested plenty as well last night effectively, it will be a very different line up Saturday.

Watching Sheehan playing last night and looking so good, I wonder how much the pitch helped his game.  Not easy to tell unless you're there but it looked perfect for playing football on the floor.  I'm concerned about Blackpool having a boggy pitch - and Wigan too with having 2 games on it at weekend.  It turns into a very different game and I don't see Sheehan or Morley etc enjoying those conditions, obviously I hope I'm completely wrong .

I think there will be changes, can see CMG being "rested" together with Bod.

I'd quite like to see CMG get another run, as he seems quite fresh and bright, and did well last night. Bit of pace too, which may help on the break, as you'd expect Blackpool to have some spells of pressure.

Just not sure he will.

Maghoma has seemed to benefit from a run of games and did ok last night, would love to see him and cmg go again but think it’s going to be a really tough game and IE will go the safe option. Maybe Dempsey, GT, and Sheehan, unless he feels one or two need resting.

Wigan definitely. The last few have been embarrassing and it's really our proper derby now.

Hopefully we can move on from it over the next few years to Blackburn et al, but for now Wigan is the derby

Blackpool have spent one season in the top flight in my entire lifetime.

Im a big advocate of the Wigan thing. Always said we should embrace the rivalry. Its what footy is all about.

...but dont underestimate Blackpools feelings towards us and the history between the clubs. All the way back to 1953.

The Wigan thing will be gone one day. They'll probably cease to exists and they'll join Tranmere in our hatred trophy cabinet.

Blackpool will be there forever. On their part anyway.

Yep. And tbh I don't even remember playing them in the 90s, they must have been in the lower leagues. Makes Blackpool a bit of a non-rivalry to me. Whereas Wigan we've been playing regularly for 20 years

i can beat that, sadly, but it was before i was watching

To me, my memory of us bottling our chance to finish in the top 6 after our last season in the Prem in the 2013 Championship season is still etched in my mind.

The Blackpool fans singing "Staying down, staying down, staying down" sticks to mind and how true they were, we haven't been back since.

With that in mind, I've always wanted us to beat them in any game since and get one over them.

Oh good, even more impressive from Sheehan and a few others last night 👏

It was shite, strangely looked dry (the irony) and was therefore proper bobbly. I thought they all did really well with their first touch actually, plenty of times it was fired into them and they made it look easy on what was actually a poor surface. It also looked like they’d really shortened it from the amount of space behind the goal at our end - assume that’s for the full season, rather than just to reduce the space for us to play in a one off game.

Blackpool.  We need to get that monkey off our back and finally win there.  We've won loads of times at Wigan.
