How can it be over when we are two points behind.  Reading won’t win every game

Has the feel like last season after we lost to Pompey though. Still possible but unlikely that we claw back enough points while being so inconsistent ourselves.

Shame really as getting rid of Evatt earlier in the season and using the Jan transfer window properly and we could have been well in the play offs.

When Rioch came to Bolton in 1992 we won three of our first give games then drew 1 and lost 5 of the next six. A very similar thing happened when Big Sam arrived in 1999. It is very early days and SS

Looks like they’ve now opened up some extra seats nearer the front.

Any parking recommendations that isn’t that overflow car park thing next to the away end? Had my windscreen broke last time I parked on there when Danns scored back in 2013(?)

When we drive we just park on the Metrodome, then have a drink in there, it is a pain getting away but dead convenient.

Aye parked there in play offs. Piece of piss and if you're lucky you can nab street parking close by.

The club itself is actually OK. Not your normal beer checkers gaff.

Because we're proven to be weak as piss

I think I might be one of those beer checkers 🤣

Parked in the streets near that East Dene WMC a few times - always found a space.

Streets facing Dove Inn but it’s hard getting away

By the same definition, over the course of this season, Reading are about as weak as piss as we are.

But they didn’t bring in a donkey from Cardiff to tip the balance

I can see your glass is half empty, and i'm possibly barking up the wrong tree, but since we signed Etete, Reading have taken 24 points from 13 games, whilst we have taken 22 from 12.

Neither here nor there.

Maybe we won't make the play offs, but i'd rather live in hope than assume the worst.

I am also living in hope; just pointing out that the donkey has put us in catch up. Other players have let us down mind like Collins missing a cricket score of chances - Charles could miss a few but would have bagged three times as many that Collins has missed.

Recruitment in the last three transfer windows is the reason we didn’t go up last season and why we are struggling to even make the playoffs this year

Well on this i agree with you 🙂

Collins is what he is. Frustrates the hell out of me (as does McAtee), but both need to be playing behind an out and out forward. Charles, as poor as he's been at Huddersfield, would undoubtedly have helped!

Etete looks like a player well off the pace, struggling to find fitness. All i'll say is that it's not his fault he was signed! However, if the penalty / defeat to Reading is what causes us to miss the play offs, that really would cement him as one of the most disastrous loan signings we've made (Owen Garvan aside)

A part of me would rather finish 7th than scrape into 6th and face Wrexham at Wembley. I can't stand the thought of it. Proper PTSD from last year. We'd still go, but I'd give my lad something to look forward to rather than the match being the only reason. Stay over and go to Thorpe Park, or something like that. Never doing coach travel again. We went to Lego Land the day after the Papa John's Final, then had a couple of days in the Cotswolds. It was all perfect. At least something like that would soften the blow, rather than enduring the torture of a 6 hour trip back straight after a massive disappointment.

I wouldn’t want that game either.

However, it looks like they will make it automatically.

If we did reach Wembley, likelihood is either Stockport or Charlton.

Stockport 🤢

I'd probably feel similar regardless of the opposition to be honest. The Wrexham circus would just make it worse.

See I think we could beat anybody at Wembley if we play to our strengths and take some of our chances. The hardest part is actually getting that 6th place.

need to win at Barnsley and hope Super Kevin Nolan’s lot can smash Reading

May as well move it to Old Trafford or The Ethiad.

Us, Reading and Huddersfield could all lose to any team on any given weekend.

If you're looking at it dispassionately, it's three teams staggering towards the chance to get put out of their misery by Wycombe or Wrexham.

We’ll beat Wycombe next week and then do them in the play offs, Morley running the show on both occasions just to rub salt in.

We’ll then go to Wembley absolutely flying and stick 5 past Stockport to avenge for earlier this year and put them firmly back in their place.

Spot on. 3 inconsistent teams, although Reading have exceeded expectations I assume.

Rationally I think we’ll just miss out. And even if we did make it, I think we’ll fall short. But what’s the point in being a football fan if we can’t cling on to some hope and some excitement.

The journey is always more fun than the destination.
