We’ll beat Wycombe next week and then do them in the play offs, Morley running the show on both occasions just to rub salt in.

We’ll then go to Wembley absolutely flying and stick 5 past Stockport to avenge for earlier this year and put them firmly back in their place.

^This please!

Spot on. 3 inconsistent teams, although Reading have exceeded expectations I assume.

Rationally I think we’ll just miss out. And even if we did make it, I think we’ll fall short. But what’s the point in being a football fan if we can’t cling on to some hope and some excitement.

The journey is always more fun than the destination.

Absolutely.

There’s been a real clamour since losing to Rotherham mid-week, to write-off the season, pack off half the squad as no good, give up on any hope of Wembley and promotion, all so people can say I’m just being realistic.

It comes across as folk surrendering, giving up, when I think all they are doing is tempering possibility because of the inconsistencies we’ve shown this season.

Like you, I get it, but where’s the fun in that?

Part of the fun of following a L1 side home and away is that hope and belief you can do that something unexpected, change your fortunes, get back to winning games, to put yourself in contention again.

Fortunately, most of the 3k there on Saturday, will be of that mind-set. In good voice at 3pm bringing the roof down, believing promotion is still on the cards.

Thank God that’s still the case, as we could provide that extra edge to get the players over the line.

Exactly mate.

I know the logic. Prepare for the worst and you can’t be disappointed. I know for many there’ll be a deep rooted hangover after 10 years of decline as well. Optimism takes a while to return.

If we lose in the playoff final, I’m ok with that. I want us to win. But if we don’t, I’ll look forward to another season hopefully at the top end of league one. Fairly likely we’ll be the best supported team in league one next season too and looked at as the big boys. That’ll bring its own drama.

Football’s fun, a release and a place to be with your pals and family. I can’t get too down about that personally.

And as you say, fans can help players over the line. Kyle Dempsey talked this week about how his comeback reception made him feel.

Fuck it. We’re going up! 😂

Ha ha. Spot on pal. Love it. 👏

That’s why we do it isn’t it?

Think most are just emotionally self protecting.

If you refuse to fully commit or invest your hope and excitement then it will in someway hurt less when bad things happen.

Unsurprising when last year was just a continuous loop of building your hopes up, only for them to let us down time and time again.

I’m convinced we’ll get the play offs. I’ve just no idea what happens once we’re there.

We will get play offs on the last day at home to Stevenage in the last 10 minutes.

We will shithouse the semis and we will do it at Wembley in front of 35,000+ PTSD ridden Wanderers supporters.

I am believing this until it is mathematically impossible.

COMEE ONNNN

Does that dick still play for them? Always moaning at refs,  getting in the faces of our players. Good at winning free kicks, corners.

Not actually any good with the football.

Wears his socks down.

Feeling strangely positive about this now. If we can play anything like Tuesday, law of averages, we will score at least two. They have nothing to play for, but for the fact they don't seem to like us. McAtee to be the annoying prick he's been against us in the past.

Me to, thought we played some decent stuff on Tuesday. Just cut out the lax defending, and put the ball in the net. Easy!😉

Well around 4k haven’t given up hope and will turn up at Grove Street tomorrow to prove it and I’m sure whilst the rest may have doubts very few will have actually given up. 😁
