After they went into the lead for the second time, I did not enjoy one single second of that match.

As for the atmosphere. One of the best this stadium has ever had. And the happy clappy things played their part. I was a critic when i heard about them. I thought it was tinpot and shite. The sort of thing Wigan would employ. I still think they are tinpot but they did create a noise and got more folk involved.

Think it only worked as stadium full, not sure it would have had same effect for run of the mill midweek match!!

My hands are still blue!

I wouldn't imagine for one second that this tactic would be employed for a run-of-the-mill midweek match.

Potential pitch invasion matches only.

Well me neither!

Who would have thought some folded up bit of card would add to the atmosphere so much.

FanZone before was class too.

I didnt go on the pitch

Was drained

When we went 3 2 down. Didnt want to watch anymore

The potential for extra time made the subs difficult but i thought particularly dempsey and jerome did great

Dempsey was outstanding when he came on. Really rattling into tackles and disrupting Barnsley. He should have been brought on 10 mins earlier really as Maghoma seemed to disappear in the second half

We were increasingly under pressure, and perhaps not so much on the front foot.

Not unexpected, a third for us early in the second half would have killed it, but it perhaps doesn't suit Maghoma, who is less defensively minded.

Its done now though.

Time to put it to bed and for Evatt and all to get the plan together.

Dempsey should start instead of Tommo at Wembley imo.

GT’s been shite for weeks & weeks and Demps is chomping at the bit, he’s much more dependable and a better player than Tommo ( imo again) plus he’s less likely to do something stupid.

Thats a call you know. I just can't see him doing it mind.

Big open pitch like that will suit GT and cross field balls.

Me neither…Thomason energy is also remarkable,  Dempsey can come on when Maghoma lungs collapses 10 minutes after HT.

Who ever plays we need to go at them from the 1st minute

I suspect, injuries notwithstanding, we've seen Evatt's first XI twice this week.

Harsh. He covered every blade of grass on Tuesday.

He did, and I wouldn’t say shite but I do think his form has dropped in the last few games vs the middle of the season.

Not saying that he deserves to be dropped, and to be honest up until the last 2 games I’ve not seen anything from Dempsey that suggests he should be taking his place (and I’m a Dempsey fan) but I do think GT has been our 3rd best midfielder over the last month or so - just seems to be a lot of mis-placed passes and poor decision making.

Barring any training ground injuries I think the same team starts again, and I’m all for it. Best players back and playing consistently in a settled team just at the right time. Let Dempsey’s energy cause them all sorts of problems on that pitch in the last 25-30 mins.

I thought the game at Barnsley was GT's best for a very long time, if not ever.
He was everywhere.

For me it's quite clear who starts and who comes on as fresh legs and from the team that started Tuesday I wouldn't change a thing

I thought it was risky making the changes he did when he did the other night

Didn't fancy ET with Jerome, Vic and Dempsey

Would prefer Paris, Collins and Charles

But I get why he did it

Dempsey has not been in our strongest starting line up all season so wouldn't start him there for the biggest game of the season

I'm a big Dempsey fan, but coming on as a sub, hasn't really worked for him for most of the season. The last two matches being the exceptions.

He just seems to take a while to fit into the game, and by then the game's over. He seems a lot more effective starting games at home, and finishes strongly. Turns 50-50's into 90-10's.

He was probs MOM last time we were at Wembley.

But Thomason's our captain in all but job title, and has to start.

Dempsey at his best destroyed top of the league Plymouth in last years Pizza cup.

I don’t recall Tomo destroying anyone.

Dempsey is our number 2 midfielder, behind Sheehan, and ahead of Maghoma, Thomason and Morley.

It’s all about opinions. For me, Jones is nowhere near our top 3 centre halfs, but better than Cogley at RWB. However, Evatt doesn’t see it that way.

Magohma #1 for me

Then Sheehan

Those two have to start

I'll listen to a case for Dempsey over GT but he's not getting in ahead of the other two for me

He's become the number #1 midfield impact sub for me

Wembley is a one off. Players will find that extra motivation and recent drops in form are likely to go out of the window.

We play our best players and for me this is Sheehan, Maghoma and GT.

i think those 2 lines show why its a bit on a nonsense ranking them

completely different roles in the team

Play Legohead and everyone can cover cost of the trip by backing to get booked.
