Armstrong did a forward jump to get in front of the defender, then put his arm across him and pulled his shirt, pulling the defender on to him. No penalty. Correct decision.

Completely agree and both the ref and VR got it right in not giving a pen.

Never a penalty. Armstrong makes the most unnatural jump to his left to get in front of the defender who then can do nothing but collide into him. It's a foul by Armstrong.

Imagine there's no defender there, Armstrong actually won't be able to catch up with the ball running through towards the goal after that movement.

I was embarrassed for him in honesty. That was a decent chance to win it for Scotland and he chose to try and win a penalty instead. Pathetic

I didn't see it live, so only saw slow analysis later.

The defender's knee does bash into the Scotland player's leg, but as others have said, I couldn't understand the "jump".

Like a startled cat on a YouTube video.

The left leg also comes across.

Absolutely spot on and yet the BBC and others are still wanking on about injustice this morning. It should have been a free kick for Hungary.

Still, it's even sweeter when they have something to whine about.

I do like the sound of a quality pipe band, however played badly, or when starting up, they can certainly have a melancholy, screeching sound which seems appropriate.

There is a delicious irony that the ragtag army have been wearing Argentina shirts and and singing about Maradona for 38 years.

"Done by an Argie referee". Tee-fucking-hee.

Gallagher starting tomorrow according to David Ornstein who is usually accurate with his reporting of England.

Boring boring Southgate. Give Wharton a chance, the lad is class.

Is exactly what I just said to my mate. Would have loved to see him given a chance tomorrow.

Gallagher is so bang average, Wharton is a lot better and he should start

I wouldn't start him neither, but the criticism of him isn't warranted.

He was great at Palace, and Chelsea had a mixed season all round.

He added a bit of energy in the first two games.

Not the best, but let's see tomorrow.

if it's not bellingham next to rice i'd rather it mainoo

Despite being in the squad, I don't see Southgate selecting the younger/new to the squad players. Certainly not to any great extent.

Not sure we'll see much of Mainoo, Palmer, Eze for example.

It's fucking Slovenia.... Why do we need one next to Rice?

How uninspiring and how Southgate. Gallagher is the Forrest Gump of midfield players

If he fucks this game up, the night of the long knives may come along sooner than I expected.

Bit of a premonition that Bellingham will play a big part in achieving an England victory. It's been plaudits all the way for him in his career until the Denmark game. I can see a reaction coming as a response to the brickbats. One goal and two assists or two goals and one assist.

I still believe that we will make the quarters. Whenever we go out, waving the waistcoat wanker goodbye will be a great relief.

It shouldn't be anyone next to rice. Why on earth do we need two combative deep midfielders ffs.

They're dropping that deep every game that Harry Kane is a holding midfielder.

Superb, on the one day you need it on 😀 Are you heading on to airport?

Have there been any comments about the ball in this tournament ?  It doesn’t seem to move quite as easily as we are used to.

Actually heard them talking about the opposite on Totally Football, comparing it to that South Africa world cup ball that was like a fly away!
