Not sure I've ever caught up on the lost sleep from that one. lmao Had tickets for that , had to give them up as starting a new job at 5 am the next day and was sure I wouldnt get back in time. Blessing in disguise , Id have been suicidal on the coach home .

Dunno how long this European pre draw thing has been in the pipeline for but first I heard of it was tonight. Sounds like there's a fair few of us struggling if it's that second week. Forgot about Crawley too the following Saturday morning 🤢

August 28, 20241 yr Arsenal play City at half 4 Sunday 22nd so perhaps that would mean its likely to be a Wednesday not Tuesday if it is that week I do recall seeing that Arsenal v City game could get moved back to Saturday depending on how Europe pans out though. Causing chaos these UEFA cunts.
August 28, 20241 yr Why did they guarantee home ties for 5 teams in Europe and 2 away? As a good an opponent as we could hope for, but if they're guaranteeing where it's played don't we get that advantage?

But what was weird was that the teams in Europe couldn’t be drawn against each other. Not sure if that’s a new thing this year?
August 28, 20241 yr They didn’t. Chelsea were in the “free draw” and just happened to get a random home draw. Home and away for the six ties with the six CL/EL teams were randomly drawn prior to the Forest match.

Not sure if that’s a new thing this year? I think it was because if a Champs League team and a Europa League team were drawn against each other they wouldn’t be able to play either week. So they were kept separate. I think the pre-draw was to determine how many of those played at home and how many played away.

Not sure if that’s a new thing this year? If a Champions League drew a Europa League team, the match couldn’t be scheduled, because of their European commitments. So, the six teams involved were “ringfenced” in the draw, to avoid this outcome.
August 28, 20241 yr Just landed back in the country - not bad news to turn my phone back on to! Never been before and who knows if/when we’ll get a chance to go back to the Emirates so going to try and make the trip down. Only got 1 more day of annual leave left to use so going to have to do two half days somehow. Will find a way. Take the money and run.

August 29, 20241 yr A very good draw although lucky Barnsley got the biggest payday. Arsenal's last home LC gate v lower divisions opposition was 56K v Wimbledon in 2021.Surprisingly they haven't won the LC since 1993

Forgot about Crawley too the following Saturday morning 🤢 Yeah and there’s still other cup competitions to go too if it’s on the 25th it makes it very difficult for me and the only transport being by road, certainly not doing another coach trip like West Ham again It’s not like the old days where everyone would go just look at our most recent trips to premiership London sides midweek, 3k to Chelsea (think it was free travel), 1k to palace & 1k to West Ham
August 29, 20241 yr Hope we start Dan in this, can't see the Arsenal defense being able to cope with him.
August 29, 20241 yr Sincerely hoping for the Wednesday on the second week and then we can just stay in That London right the way through from Wednesday to Sunday. Bought off peak returns for Crawley so should be able to use those a few days early and job’s a good un 🙏
