  • this free hit thing is doing my head in now who honestly even thinks it's a free hit? this is exactly the game we need right now this is IE's big test he's got 13 from 15 in games

  • Lostock Whites
    Lostock Whites

That game has angered me a lot more than I was hoping it would. I was expecting a loss because our record against better sides is truly awful, but the way we went about it was just pure cowardice

  • in my mind if we want to really see that we've moved on from last season and are serious contenders there's absolutely no reason to go into this game (as fans) and think we ought to lose I d

And don't even get me started on "one nil to Villa boys".

Making excuses for nobody. Just calling it how I see it having watched.

We need to play better but complete meltdown on here and elsewhere tonight.

It's not really a meltdown. Just a lot of people acknowledging we're going backwards.

A managerial change would freshen up us and Evatt. It's gone stale

It's easy guys HE NEEDS TO GO!

I've been slowly melting for a while.

Fair play for keeping the faith, but for me the writing's on the wall. And the ceiling. And all over the best fucking carpet. He's not turning this round.

Disappointing performance. It was far too easy for Birmingham. We constantly gave the ball away after a couple touches and it was easy for them to just run in behind us. Not many performances worth mentioning but thought Johnston did ok and Southwood made a couple good saves.

Our fans seem to sing more about the opposition than our own team these days. The followings have been fantastic again this season, we just seem to lack creativity when it comes to chants.

2nd half was much better, Matete made a big difference, think it might have been different if he'd started ahead of Arfield.

McAtee?

Manager sets the tone. Charles can’t really play up top on his own especially with shite service. Arfield is a mystery inclusion , offers hardly anything to the team.

Obvious improvement second half with positive changes. McAtee should score one of his chances.

Didn’t  understand the Forrester sub , thought Williams & Cogley did ok & the ref was more than happy to give the penalty even though the ball had been delivered?

Birmingham were much better than us & we actually defended ok but you have to play with some intensity when your behind , that is almost always missing from our play in that scenario.

Thought Johnston & Cogley played well .

Johnny Stones ffs.

We're a just going for a big day out team now, on and off the pitch

Saying something when the banter is worse than the performances.

You have been saying that since about 8 minutes into his tenure though.

Starting line-up / formation was all wrong.

Charles cannot hold a ball up to save his life, yet he was our only player up top. We showed them far too much respect I the first half.

Second half was an improvement and at least gave them something to think about at the back. Great chance for McAtee to snatch us an undeserved point only a minute or so before their penalty.

Ultimately though, we got exactly what we deserved.

Whilst Birmingham weren't brilliant, they looked light-years ahead of us in all aspects of their game.

Finally, if Arfield starts another game for us I think I'll combust. He makes Jerome look like a spring chicken. It really is like playing with 10 men.

With away followings I've always thought we're a bit off an ebb and flow club like many others, and we've just passed the peak of something again, big numbers and feeling invested, now possibly heading into the pissed up not arsed if you actually see a minute of action or not doldrums

It's been like this for a long time

As in

I recall us playing Spurs at home back around 02 and there were arsenal arsenal chants throughout

It made no sense

sorry, yes, but then if he'd started people would've been moaning that he was playing a striker in midfield

Had no great hopes about tonight, a 0-2 scoreline about what I expected, so not overly exercised by it, albeit the selection was baffling and the performance limp.

Saturday the issue now, I see Posh coming out to stuff us from minute one, they don't have another way and will chance their arm on letting one or two in, on the basis they'll have enough firepower to end up winning 3-2

On nights like this I miss Magohma

He played for Brentford U21s yesterday

What a waste

I gave him 2 years and the issues i saw then i still see now.

We haven't improved any area of the pitch since falling short last season, hence us going backwards as we're doing.

He’s been replaced by Arfield to make matters worse. We’ve always looked our best under Evatt with a ball carrier in the team. It was Dapo first and then Maghoma.

Hopefully Mendes Gomes can stay fit and give us that option again.

Two weeks off here, and nothing as changed, flying home while the match was on, but was expecting nothing less than a defeat today. I understand we played the runaway leaders, but, as per, big game, didnt turn up! It really is time for Mr Evatt to go. Should have gone after Wembley, then Huddersfield, but the board bottled it, and give Evatt the next 6 easiest fixtures that was possible. We did ok in those games, nothing spectacular, but the same issues raise its head every time we play a decent team! Yes, we have injuries, but so does every other team! I didnt see the Burton game either, but believe we struggled against a team yet to win a game! It really is just not good enough. How long do we give him now, as Sharron wont sacked him after losing to the league leaders. No shame in that, but, for fuck sake show some bottle!

Brum were nothing special tonight

We were just, erm, nothing. Nothing at all. Decent performance tonight and we could have easily turned them over. But we produced nothing

That’s what I’ll take from tonight. Nothing

Edit: one of those games that a few years later in the YouTube thread nobody will remember

Whilst he'll be a big improvement on Arfield, he'll not be a patch on Maghoma.

Wonder if @Mounts Kipperwill admit that we are missing him yet?

After Wembley evatt said that he had done a lot of soul  searching and knew what was needed to improve us so he stayed on .
Is tactics and signings have made us worse he should be judged on that

Birmingham showed the difference between a £35 million team and a £5 million team so the big surprise is that it was only 2. Some of our fans need to calm the fuck down, accept where we are and be grateful we’re still here instead of whingeing about the club.
