Had a glance at Iles’ player ratings which apart from Baxter were nearly all 2s and 3s. When one player has an off day and gives the ball away all the time, it affects everyone else and creates uncertainty - in some ways it’s worse than playing with 10 men. When 2 players are having a bad day it brings everyone down but when 3 or 4 or 5 players are not on it, you’re fucked and that’s exactly what happened.

Stockport totally deserved to batter us on that performance but TBH any team would have if we played like that.

As our flimsy ship was being capsized once more by neighbours yesterday, we picked up not one single booking. That speaks volumes to me.

The horrible day we were turned over by Cantona's Stretford fc at Burnden 0-6 (apologies to those still suffering) McGinley who was out & recovering from an injury made this very remark.

wtte of "I can take a drubbing off a vg team but we didn't seem hurt by it. Not one booking. That's inexplicable".

There's plenty to criticise Evatt for but not utilising the B Team isn't one of them

Generally, yes.

What concerns me is that fact that if some of these lads were way off because of illness, then they simply shouldn't have played.

It may have an adverse effect on them, and their recovery. Potentially making things worse in the short term.

I'm not sure a few b team players would have seen a worse overall event, and even if not good enough, they would have been fit and tried.

It hasn't gone unnoticed that on the occasions that a youngster or two is on the bench, that they don't come on.

Begs the question, what's the point of it?

Aye but demanding Evatt out is like demanding he play a back 4

It's not happening

Sharon will not sack him

We need mutiny in the boardroom  for it to happen

Is Sharon still the major shareholder?

Think so.

Not that that means others can't force the issue if necessary.

Youth development takes years to get right without huge investment and we basically had to start from scratch on the cheap after administration

Granted, if we end up getting beat 5-0 then we might as well have started a few, but that's after the fact thinking

The best thing we could do to improve our youth set-up is poach the people in charge of the Academy at that club down the road, especially as we should now be in a position to pay them more

Hmm, we have loads of scientific data, analysis, physios, dietician types available at the club or wider.

Then there is their own observations.

There should have been plenty of information and signs that some weren't fit enough.

There is a huge number of early season norovirus cases at the moment- and I get the impression that that is the case here- and that leaves folk washed out.

Not sure it is a wise after the event job, and if it is, then it certainly shouldn't be.

The not getting a booking thing there are a few players on 5 santos matete Schon off the top of my head may be Sheehan . If we have those 3 or 4 out for Blackpool on top of the injuries we would be looking at another drubbing

No, I mean the rationale of "we got beat anyway so might as well have played the youth" is after the fact thinking

The point being made is about attitude

You’ll have to explain to me how Evatt’s system causes players to misplace passes, make basic errors and play at a tempo much slower than we know they are capable of playing at ….erm…in Evatt’s system

We are not set up right. Consequently we are trying to play in the wrong area and half decent L1 teams with a good press can exploit it. Time after time after fkin time!

She’s no longer major shareholder.

Sobering…

Interesting (for me anyway) that in their short spells as captain GT and GJ seem to have come out and done more interviews and said more than Santos did during his long stint

Yes sobering. But the word that springs more readily to mind is disgusting.

You can add 2 losses to Tranmere to that as well. 3-0 at home being one of them (which I’d managed to blank from my memory!)

In fact, if you exclude the football league trophy and just look at those where there is a genuine rivalry that the players would feel it - Wigan, Blackpool, Stockport, Tranmere

W1, D1, L9

Then there’s those that have a bit on it but not in the same category - Oldham, Carlisle, Accrington

W4, D0, L4

Then there’s Fleetwood which although geographically in a similar place to a few, there’s absolutely no needle whatsoever

W5, D0, L1

I’d love to have gone up last season and get to play Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, and then the likes of Sheff Weds, Sheff Utd, Stoke etc., but actually we’d likely have just been turned over by each of them and had a shite time because we can’t deal with a big occasion.

Ridicules player ratings, far to generous!!

Like Farrelli said all decent teams have to do is press us and it force us into mistakes, they get a goal. All of a sudden we need one back so we try to attack, this then leaves us vulnerable and boom that's 2, cycle repeats and then it's 5.

The way you counter this is by having flexibility.

When you see them pressing and you're stuggling to get the ball out your own half...or even 3rd.

You can switch things up, drop a striker and bring on a midfielder to link up the midfield and defence. Maybe bring on a winger and a target man to play it long to explot the gaps they're leaving by pressing.

This is all entry level football management 101.

Can you repeat that in English?

The Blackpool home game is now going to be a big deal they will know  if they can frustrate us for the first 20 mins the crowd will start to get nervous and that will transfer to the team putting us on the back foot we will need to get an early goal

Been thinking since Evatt has returned to the Touchline after his ban we’ve lost 2, coincidence maybe.

Someone needs to start a fan tv channel. Be atleast some humour after the results this season.
