No wonder they called an early election. They announced/pledged it as soon as they had no chance of being in power - you watch, they'll have the audacity to be in uproar about it taking too long to pay these poor people within a few weeks/months, and the Daily Mail and anti-Labour mob will absolutely lap it up

So he's confirming that he's already lapping up that the conservatives misled the public on the costs of compensation and then will swallow the line that it's taking too long? Some people seemed to have lost their mental bearings over the last few days from taking kids for a happy meal to avoid bombing attacks to admitting you'll agree with any old nonsense as long as it comes from the Conservatives. I worry what will happen if Harris does get elected.

October 31, 20241 yr Popular Post I find it quite amusing that Liz Truss is doing the rounds criticising the new Government's Budget. And next up on GB News, Gary Glitter's guide to half-term fun.

To be fair, she's milking that cash cow whilst she still can, I don't blame her for that, as surely it can't must much longer, once it stops then she'll just have to survive on the chauffeur driven government car and the £115K per year, for life, that she can claim as an ex PM. The fact that people actually pay to have her turn up and talk is what I find amazing.

I didn't want any issues with gum disease so best have it checked out. Need a cap on it. That is the biggest expense. Add on a couple of fillings and my vanity issues and that's were all the expense comes from. My old dentist has retired so I had to register as a new patient. That pumped the price up too. Apparently my new dentist is a bit of a celebrity. She's been on one of these fly-on-the-wall hospital documentaries, so she says. Anyway, the upshot of this is that I've knocked on the head my away games for a bit. Try snapping a front upper out on a bread roll and paying 3k+ for an implant - including the cost of them digging about to get what was left out first and then months later when it had healed having them hammer the implant in followed by him saying "you might feel a bit of torque" as he screwed the implant base in with a fucking wrench. Actually thought he'd snap my entire upper gob off, despite umpteen injections. That was my last year in a nutshell. My NHS told me to fuck off as I'd not been for 5 years, but in fact you couldn't get this on NHS anyway (barring a scenario of major reconstructive surgery). On that basis I should have wandered round Pompey city centre in a Soton top and got bricked. Would have saved some money in the long run.

Like with any particular skill I get that you have to pay for their expertise. But there's always one smart alec who knows different and suggests someone else who can do it cheaper. It's the same with car mechanics, roofers, cake decorators etc.. If I get a good jaw and teeth out of it then I'm happy to be tortured in my wallet. If I want Josef Mengele poking around in my mouth I'll pay peanuts.

Riviera Dental Clinic around 20 minutes from Malaga airport. Half the price and you'll get a decent holiday out of it too. Having said that, you may need a snorkel and flippers at the moment.

Tasted cracking until a bite resulted in a "pwang!" that resonated through my gob. Never got to finish it as I was too busy looking round the floor for the snapped bit. Turned out to be too close to the base to fix back onto the rest of the tooth. Bastard!

Joking aside, I did exactly the same thing (except that it was a Supersol Pan Galego roll) in Spain a couple of years ago. Cost me less than half to repair there compared to down here.

Dentists are the ones who failed medical school and as a consequence have ended up spending their careers looking into people's slimy rotting mouths. As a result they become money chasing, robbing shallow excuses... Flying schools and Sailing Clubs are full of the parasites chucking their ill-gotten gains around to little consequence. Most tend to end up suicidal or alcoholic because of their worthless lack of self-esteem or "retire" early rather than teach their so called skills to others.
