mickbrown Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Good to see us getting free kicks into the box rather than the shit quick short free kicks that eventually end up back with the keeper. Quote
perth_white Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Completely different attitudes from the last time I watched them. Working their bollocks off, can't ask for more. Quote

Three of our "big" players on the bench - Randall, McAtee and Sheehan - would arguably make us even weaker, physically. Its going to take a while to correct, we've virtually wasted January with the inexplicable indecision. Saying that, enjoying the game so far, really competing, can't fault the 11 starters in terms of application (Tomo still can't tackle to save his life though). I would expect one or two of those weaker ones to make an appearance in the second half. Maybe look to find any gaps against tiring legs. Quote
1969 Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 That was a descent half Let's hope it continues Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 No complaints really. Just need to create that guilt edged chance, or Collins with a thundertwat. Quote
noxid Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 (edited) Less back passing. Ball sent down field much quicker. Better movement overall. Hope tiredness doesn't set in and we get a lucky break like Charlton did the other night Edited January 25, 2025 by noxid Quote

Yeah enjoyed that first half from an effort point if view. Very little more we can do with the players we have. One thing I'd like to see the new manager do is abandon the back 5 though. Even with our small team a solid back 4 would work better imo Quote
Bryan458 Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Johnstone has really surprised me, defended pretty good, just shows when he does'nt have to think !! Quote
only1swanny Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Victor's like a new man, Well maybe not but he's being a huge problem for them Quote
Lostock Whites Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 The gap in quality between where we are and the top promotion sides is hardly even a gap, this Huddersfield team are turgid but they are solid, difficult to beat and have quality players to win them a game. Watching this half knowing the new manager whoever it is can certainly turn us into a promotion side without doubt. Quote
Casino Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Victors miss may well have been going in Clear corner Its been a good performance, def giving as good as we get Nice to see a cpl of whacks on Charles Think we will lose from something that has ice on it Quote
VividDreamer Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Super battling from the lads that half. I don’t see much difference in quality between us and a side 20 unbeaten is it? Which is promising for the future Quote
wakey Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 (edited) Refreshing to see us play a 'proper' 3-5-2 with 2 centre mids and Lolos as a 10. Much better shape for me than Evatt's version. Also good to see no pissing about at the back and trying to get crosses in when we get a chance instead of turning back. Good so far. Edited January 25, 2025 by wakey Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 I don't know what to make of Lolos Quote
Wanderlust Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Really good to watch - just need to stop them finding space between the lines and produce just one perfect pass and finish. Quote

London Wanderer Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Feel we may regret those missed chances, particularly Collin’s header. But fck me it’s like watching totally different players. Quote

jayjayoghani Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Yeah it was given offside against Collins Quote

I couldn't believe Huddersfield were evens to beat a team that hasn't laid a glove on a top 6 side all season so I'm having a bit of that. It won't stop me willing us on to a clean sheet in the 2nd half. If some consider it a conflict of interest by all means just bet on us to win, I don't have that feeling in the slightest, I wish I'd backed my instinct that we'd lose to Charlton and not bothered with my bet on us to beat Cambridge! Just a bit of fun though, part of a Saturday for me. Quote
meanderson93 Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Cracking half and quite refreshing seeing us being a bit more direct and simple in our build up. Thomason still a walking liability when asked to make a challenge though. Could really do with a more defensively astute midfielder. Quote
Wanderlust Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Also hoping that Southwood doesn’t get chipped, JDC doesn’t get a second yellow and we get a slice of luck for once… Quote
