The best interview from a manager ever, and probably the most un-manager like interview ever! Can see why he coaches the u18s, and is doing so well at it. Pure joy; back to the days of ding

  • Fucking brilliant! Plenty of shithousery, no fucking about at the back, defenders knocking Charles about like a ragdoll. Superb gritty team performance. Absolutely made up, especially for Julian Darby

  • Good man Julian Darby. Late on his career with us he had some rough times with the fans but even then he scored a couple of really crucial goals when Bruce got us promoted. This is a properly deserved

He didn't "get grief for years". He did get grief for a spell in late 1991 and 1992 when Phil Neal's reign was turning sour and admittedly it was pretty grim stuff. I don't remember grief before that though. He scored a lot of goals (powerful daisy cutter shots and headers) and covered every blade of grass. Then under Bruce he got goals at Bournemouth (a) the game before the famous Hull match and the winner v Stoke at Burnden in the one before the PNE promotion game.ย

He's one of ours born and bred and he and his family will always remember yesterday. Let's enjoy it with him.

Ignore him

Some folk just can't help it with the negativityย

On the actual game, how good is Collins finish for goal, very calm.ย

Also I once thought Herbie Kane was a player we should sign, he was awful yesterday.ย

And his roly poly celebration against Stoke!

He will be a big star and future cult figure for us that lad.

how nice is it to just celebrate a win with no cynicism, no feelings of having won despite the manager, of papering over cracks or prolonging the inevitable.

What doesn't get mentioned much is how 2 footed he is, his first touch is all right foot and his finish is left footed.ย  I'm genuinely not sure which is his foot he prefers, he shoots a lot with his left, but passes, crosses and controls with his right just as often, not always accurately but he isn't constantly having to turn back to his other foot like most of our players.ย  I can't remember the last time we had such a 2 footed player, and I'm not sure he scores that if he isn't.ย  ย ย

Fuck him....

Already read some of the stuff he is supposed to have said.

Can't be arsed with this.

ย

Even their own fans say we were the better team and deserved the 3 pointsย

They also add they never really threatened and hardly layed a glove on usย

Another example of manager bullshit or as we would say Evatt speak

Similar to the fans vid above but from a Uddersfield POV ...

Heโ€™s also deceptively fast. I donโ€™t think he looks like heโ€™s running that fast (might be the way he runs) but he very rarely gets beaten in a foot race.

Charles was the one that got the attention for pace but I reckon Collins is faster.

Pre last seasons injury id say Dion was faster but since then he's lost a step

Charles was really quick when he first came, especially from the off over a few yards.

Scored goals from early balls over the top, when the defender appeared favourite to get to it first.

Charles definitely more of a pest for defenders, Collins a bit more guile, but not as tenacious.ย

Collins appears to be a bit of a character, and confidence player. Keep him involved in the game.

I've seen a few smash and grab wins, for and against us (Exeter maybe), and that was nowhere near one.ย  We were comfortable and I'm not saying we deserved to win by more than one but a 2nd goal was more likely for us than an equaliser was for them.ย  I can't remember the last time we were the better team in both halves away from home against anyone of any note.

Smash and grab my arse.

We're coming for you, you potato headed mongy looking nob head.
