The best interview from a manager ever, and probably the most un-manager like interview ever! Can see why he coaches the u18s, and is doing so well at it. Pure joy; back to the days of ding

  • Fucking brilliant! Plenty of shithousery, no fucking about at the back, defenders knocking Charles about like a ragdoll. Superb gritty team performance. Absolutely made up, especially for Julian Darby

  • Good man Julian Darby. Late on his career with us he had some rough times with the fans but even then he scored a couple of really crucial goals when Bruce got us promoted. This is a properly deserved

Bloody hell, every team has a few "half chances".

The fact that that is pretty much all says we were tremendous in stopping them from playing and doing enough ourselves.

You misread me if you think I'm not giving us credit for winning that game fair and square.  I'm just saying they looked very average, if they were better they had plenty opportunity to display it - eg the free kick in a dangerous position, the shot from Charles ballooned over, the corner that they put behind the goal!  Miscontrolling the ball and letting it run into touch, loads of times I was literally laughing at how bad their distribution was.  Its OK to say we played great and that the opposition were poor too. Cambridge and Charlton were even worse and they managed to get results but we played miles better today.

I'll hold my hands up, I questioned you saying Huddersfield were average.  Their unbeaten run suggests they're not, today they looked bang average.  And before anyone says "we didn't let them play", they did have half chances to do something, but they were bobbins on the day other than that decent shot Southwood saved well.  That free kick on the edge of the box when they rolled it sideways and we intercepted summed up their performance.  Gives hope to everyone else in the top 10, no fear about meeting them in the play offs, especially now they have such a weak striker!  Hopefully he keeps his starting place.

Top man, let’s hope the boys can keep it up now? 😁

Roy Walker didn't say what he saw. He told the contestants to do that.

Was also good to see marking space on the edge of the box. WTF was Evatt thinking.

Another day they score 2 from the edge

Made up we win, but another day Hudds(Kane) hit the target

I’d like him to get a home game at least, so he can get a 20,000 crowd chanting his name.

TBH I Don’t

Nothing can top that..

Just get a new bloke in on Monday and let Jules bask in that glow that we’d all give our left leg for 😊

I'd like to see him basking in the glory of a home game with him at the helm. I don't think a day is going to make a difference over the season, considering there isn't a match in between.

I’ll call the next manager out easy to do

An extra bonus from today is the appointment does not need to be rushed. Jules does not want the job full time but we know the three lads doing the job can get results.

Also think be wrong to forget Andy Taylor and  Andy Tuttes contribution.

Exactly. Jules said he doesn't want it, fair enough, but I bet he'd like a home match in charge.

Let's get a 'full' house cheering the three of 'em.

I'm not sure he'd be basking in any glory if we get beat

He could get his basking in early.

We won't anyway.

Today was what our club is about.

Its not been enjoyable being a Wanderers fan for most of th season. Especially this week with a gut wrenching mid-week home defeat and the manager getting sacked which left us even more rudderless. I really did think we would be on the back end of a 3-0, at best. Can't tell you how happy I've been today.

Agreed, that volley from the edge of the box was another example of us not "stopping them", rather them having half a chance and being incapable of getting a shot on target.  They were poor, we played well, but undoubtedly we can be better by at least choosing to mark spare men.  That's no criticism of Darby, far from it, I think the players just have some bad habits that a new manager will hopefully knock out of them.

Wow, just wow.

every single player take a bow.

the away following take a bow.

julian Darby take a bow.

that was everything we have been missing for weeks and months.

only after Rotherham did evatt say changing the manger wouldn’t be the answer.

I have got home physically and mentally exhausted - that has taken my breath away.

a few of my Huddersfield mates said we deserved to beat them by more (despite duff and his smash and grab jibes)

that was old school and proper defending today and I loved it.

bottle that and use it for the next 19 and we won’t be far of…..

Hearing Muff come out with his drivel as opposed to our manager was so refreshing.

That said Muff at times wanted to concede it was deserved and then couldn’t bring himself to do it. Hahaha

I’m a bit pissed. That’s a game I’ll (hopefully) talk to the grandkids about. So pleased to have been there. Tears in my eyes when JD came over.

Pretty sure I haven't made this up but sure JDs folks lived on Stambourne Dr, Astley Bridge a few doors down from SL. Ask him next time you see him.

What a day, was wedged right in the middle of 2'000 wonderful whites. Incredible atmosphere. Fans and players alike all fired up as one.

Never thought the players stopped playing for IE judged on their reactions after goals/wins/defeats. What I think on the back of today was that a lot of them were shot on confidence being asked to do too much. Was great to see so many players back to basics and get that fire back (particularly Johnston, Forrester and Vic).

Evatt's perfect away performance was that shambles (offensively) at Wycombe.  And fans expectations had gone so low that plenty agreed with him.  We defended well at Wycombe (especially Matete and Forrester) but in possession we were as bad as we were good today.  Hopefully this moves the goalposts as to what acceptable looks like.

We’re so lucky to win today, eh?
