The lunatics are out in force already.

Sean Dyche or John McGinlay my favourites so far :D

The winner has to fight a chosen person outside the club shop to prove their worthiness

Think people are looking at the market wrong. Sure it was @Traf who explained a couple of quid can completely change it. This isn’t like betting on the next England manager.

my mates brother made the betting list for next Macclesfield manager a few years back. Never had a chance and was coaching in US, his mates made the betting. He was favourite at one point

Why people continue to put an emphasis on transfer fees I’ve no fucking idea.

rationale on that went out of the window fucking years ago regardless of what league it is applied too. Plus, no one ever knows what the figures are.

the price of a player always has been and always will be what the selling club determine it to be. If you think it’s fair, pay it, if not, walk away. It all counts for fuck all in the grand scheme of things.

the squad we have has more than enough ability to walk this league. With many of them able to play in the league above. But the issue over the past few weeks / months hasn’t been their quality. It’s been their willingness to fight, work hard and play for the shirt.

any gaffer that comes in gets them doing that first and foremost will get them being successful. Simple as that

Agree with pretty much all that, although I think the price of a player is dictated by what anyone is willing to pay.

Selling club can name their price, and as you say, prospective clubs either pay it or don't.

In the end, the "value" in money terms is what is paid.

Schumacher was confirmed,  they had a fax and everything,  but he came on here to look at some fans opinions and could decipher Masi51's ramblings so cancelled his contract

As for the new manager- why does the odd person keep putting a bit on BSA, if he's said he doesn't want it?

His odds have shortened again.

Stop it. This would be beyond my wildest dreams.

Nightmare for me! Great in the past but we, and football, have moved on.

You do surprise me? 😁

Always looking at the past with dewy eyes behind rose tinted spectacles.

This, he was brilliant for us and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride but it is time to move on.

There's little money in the market and it wouldn't take much to move the odds, but also Schumacher's odds very quickly shortened to 1/4, which is a much shorter priced favourite than there's been since the market opened, and obviously must've triggered the bookies' software to suspended the market

I suppose it doesn't have to mean anything other than more money in a short space of time was placed in one candidate than have been placed on any of the others

This guy's name's on the list at 66/1 😁

He wouldn’t be my first choice as I agree that we and football have moved on.

Doubt BSA could cut it at Premier League level anymore but for 6 months in League One I’m sure he would get this team fighting for promotion again just as capably as Schumacher or anyone else. (Probably just for twice the price!)

For the remainder of the season, we  need a leader to come in, instil confidence back into the players and get them back to basics.

The fans will be 100% behind whoever gets the job, as lost hope returns and we have a second chance at making this season a success. COYW

There's not a poster on this site that couldn't do a better job than Robbie Fowler

If the hiring team didn’t laugh at Fowlers application and quickly throw it in the shredder I’ll be very surprised.

Rob Page is an interesting new name. Most successful Welsh manager ever

Give him a chance, he'll have written it in his best crayons

Don’t doubt there’ll be more than on the odds shortlist that we have spoken too. Some left field ones too based on who’s potentially applied.

Only takes someone that person knows to lay some money on them and suddenly the bookies smell something and bang them on the shortlist.

a bit like the monster raving lunatic party in an election.
