The lunatics are out in force already.

Sean Dyche or John McGinlay my favourites so far :D

Really hope it works out for him.

  • We don't need a sentimental appointment here to put a fire out. Like said above, we are fully loaded and ready to go. It's actually a dream job for someone. Sqaud full of talent ✅️ Dece

You're right: it was Huddersfield. Did well to keep them there for a season.

Kachunga was pretty prolific that season they got promoted

Wagner has a fantastic pedigree, great links, got Huddersfield in the Prem, got Norwich in the top 6 last season with a much poorer squad on paper compared to the competition.

Us attracting him to manage us whilst in League 1 would be ambitious for sure.

I'm personally happy with either Schumacher or Wagner, just want it sorted asap!

I think it's unfair to call Wagner a poor mans Klopp. Jesus, every manager in the world is a poor mans Klopp.

He has a good CV, managed clubs across Europe, has success in this country at Huddersfield and got Norwich to the play offs.

He'll have an extensive contact network that outstrips anything Schumacher can offer in that sense, and I expect will buy into the wider network we have here with Markham, Ludonautics, etc as its a more common continental format. That's not to say he will be better than Schumacher, but if we're looking at possible managers purely on CV, potential, etc, he's as good a fit as any

I just feel like the appointment of Wagner has no longevity in it. 2 seasons max at best before he's either sacked or off somewhere else. I was fully on board with the idea of the 'project' and that's what we need to be looking to build if we're to have some sustained progress.

You're right regarding transfer network but still doesn't fill me with much optimism if i'm honest.

Schumacher ditched Plymouth once Stoke came calling! It happens.

I have no idea who the best person for the job is - there are risks with everyone. I know our board are more forward thinking than most at this level, so I imagine whoever gets it will have demonstrated a buy in to their project.

Craig North Chap

says he wants £600'000 a year

that's what's holding it up

and IE was on £500'000 a year

im now having we are paying that kind of

WADGE

Any manager who could get us up to the Championship would be testing the Board's commitment in the following season and given the right backing would want to stay so I don't think we need worry about it at this stage - we just need someone to take this squad and get us over the line - the rest will take care of itself.

We've spunked £1m on McAtee and £1.2m on Joel Thingy, £100k a year over three years is fuck all extra - especially of we get up

I've got to ask ... who's this Craig North chap ?

I don't know who Craig North is or why he wants £600k per year 😉 but Evatt wasn't on £500k per year!

Half it and you'll be getting closer, but still not quite!

Not interested in Wagner, we've had a poor mans Pep for the last 5 years and the last thing we need is a poor mans Klopp.

Except we haven't had a poor man's Pep for the last few years (have you seen all the long ball stuff upto the big man that Pep does?).  We've had a poor man's Russell Martin, although even he won plenty big games in the championship.

I'd be happy with a couple of good years, then get someone else in.  If only we'd done that with Evatt.  2 years and clear off is better than undoing the good work, outstaying your welcome and counting the days till there's a change.  Watford fans would love 2 good years with one manager!

I'd be happy with Schumacher or Wagner.

If its not Schumacher I'll take the view that he only got success at Plymouth because he happened to have Hardie,  Whittaker and Azaz at the same time!  Unreal to have them 3 in L1 at the same time.

Even assuming those numbers are correct - and I don’t think Evatt was on anything like £10k per week - it’s not £100k per year; it’s £600k per year.

Randall wasn't 1.2m either.

People just make numbers up.

Yeah he's saying £100k is the difference between £500k and £600k.

Which is what speculation says Schumacher wants?

When you apply for a position it’s usually stated what the salary is. I know footballs different but surely when you enquire about the job why can’t you be told the salary is X the bonuses etc. are Y. Then if you don’t like it just fook off somewhere else. This job is a godsend for any current out of work manager, big club, big fan base, cracking squad and a loyal ownership. What’s not to like, so if Schumacher or anyone else is agitating over the numbers just say thanks but no thanks and move on. Based on their history any one of a number of names on the prospective list would do a good job here so there’s nobody, including Schumacher, that we should be cow towing to. If the package we’re offering isn’t market rated that’s our managements fault and they need to sort it but I’m sure that’s not the case and if none of the mentioned accept it then keep JD involved for the season whilst you work on someone else behind the scenes. This club is bigger than anyone I’ve so far heard mentioned.
