  • I don't want Randall anywhere near this fixture. Or next Tuesday for that matter. These aren't the games for fannies.

  • All said in the heat of the moment and in the middle of 15 pints. It wasn't gutless. It was as SS says. We just have a habit of losing these kind of football matches. We were by far the bett

  • The more of Dempsey, Forrester, Forino, Johnston, McAtee, GT, Morley, Schon in the team for these 2 games, the better chance we’ve got. We’ve tried to beat them with nice football for too long no

Yep. I reckon it will be rescinded, but not in time for Wigan.

If its appealed, it will be heard b4 wigan, or the ban will be delayed

That’s good. Sheehan was right there to cover (albeit the keeper wasn’t!).

not too sure what the grounds for appeal would be. its as clear a denying a goal scoring opportunity as there is.

One player between him and goal, as there usually is in every DGO reds, its just a defender rather than the keeper here.

I think we created loads more half chances than them

Second goal isnt about gutless, its about johnston not getting out

Id say after conceding each goal we have dominated

So, gutless?

Bollocks

Not enough guile, maybe

Just quoted you, couldve been anybody :)

I didn't mention gutless, we did start to play after we went behind, twice, but why do we always have to chase games. We hand teams the initiative and have to chase, then struggle to break teams down, it is dull and frustrating, especially against local rivals. We created some half chances, keeper made a good save, but they had the two best chances of the half, scored one and fletcher should probably score the other. Defensively weak and have zero leaders on the pitch.

Except the guy wasn't looking to shoot??

Proper Ref would have blown as soon as corner was cleared and out keeper up the pitch, why being on all that happened, was over 5 minutes by then. They really are thick as piss stones.

Thing is though, I don’t think we created hardly anything especially second half. Couple hopeful balls in and long range efforts from Morley, not exactly guilt edge chances. We can’t break teams down and are too happy passing it around the half way line.

Fair points but their keeper worked far harder than Baxter and there were several balls into good positions that we failed to take just like the ones at County which should have been converted but we just don’t have anybody to do it. Same with aerial crosses, nobidy to offer anything there either. We need strikers and we just don’t have any thanks to Evatt. It’s not Schueys fault, he’s just saddled with Evatts misfits.

It's so hard to be optimistic, particularly about the rest of this season.

I want to say that despite 3 horrible losses in a row we could still for sure get 6th spot and who knows.

They say play offs is a lottery, but for us to win the play offs with this set of spinless players, it would be the biggest lottery win ever.

As I said previously, our fans have had to put up with some next level trauma from recent years.

To have the Blackpool/Wigan away double header for the 2nd time in succession, with the addition of Stockport at home beforehand, 25k home crowd and both away games sold out, this time with renewed optimism under a new manager, all for the same results and opposition chants to happen for the hundredth time. It really is beyond traumatic.

Fair play to some of those fans who have been to every one of those games.

new manager bounce gone

That’s the one thing that I’m sure Schu has got from these games, that certain players just aren’t up for it. It isn’t just occasionally, it’s regularly and that’s why most of them, or as many as Schu can, must go. I think out of our whole squad I can only think of 6 or 8 that I’d keep and none of them would be our most recent signings.

I told you Evatt wasn’t the problem.

But you all knew better

Furthermore our centre half’s don’t half like a a jinksing run into the opposing half. Not sure if it adds to our defensive frailties .

Surprised you could manage one!

Said it before the game, keep giving soft goals away we ain't making it. Fucking wank defending costing us again after having control of the second half.

And it will be the same at Wigan. This is what this team is. New manager bounce has gone now. 57 goals conceded. Fucking embarrassing. Need some new defenders.

I don't agree re defenders.

At times they've been excellent.

There is a bigger issue that the team doesn't defend well at times.

I also dont get the selections in the last 3 games, they've seemed unbalanced again- the ability to pass and have possession, but faulty at both ends.

I still expected us to be better off.

We’re in the same position when he left. Conceding embarrassing goals, humiliating as always in the derbies.

I thought these players were more than capable of at least a top 6 finish. But maybe I’m coming round to the opinion that they’re just not good enough. Sometimes you just need men behind the ball, be streetwise and soak up some pressure.

SS feels the right man with the right experience to take us forward come the summer. Going to look bad come May if we’ve dropped down further though.

We're simply not consistent enough, and definitely need some spine adding.

The belief in them seems to flood away, but creep back like a slow, low tide.

Mate, his recruitment has absolutely screwed us.

Schumacher will be gutting the squad whatever division we are in.

Need some speed and physicality badly.

But he was right in saying another manager wouldn't be much better.

I'm just not sure he knew why.

We’re not good enough. This group of players isn’t good enough. Issues all over the pitch and unfair to point to just one / two players. It’s not just mentality, it’s ability too.

Fundamental issue though - you can’t concede 1.5 goals a game and think you’re going to do anything. Unless we sort that out then we’re never getting out of this league.

Clear out needed these players are Evatts players get shut sick of losing to rivals , Wigan will be the same  it’s league 1 again next season.

I think SS has plenty in the bank, and is way better than what Evatt ended up being.

That said, we have lauded him and rightly so, but I also think he has picked odd teams these last 3 games, with players out of position, or a lack of balance.

Not a case for absolute despondency, but big disappointment nevertheless.

Obvious to me. SS knows the midfield is weak as piss keeps going with 5 at the back clearout needed .

Only 5 teams have conceded more than us

new defenders required

We could still sneak into the play off spots but I think the reality is we are just not good enough, the little investment in the January window that we made has had no effect. Add to that the teams around us apart from Huddersfield maybe have been consistent and had a settled team and club, not giving up hope and a win down the road on Tuesday would give our chances a boost.

Do believe there will be a clear out either way in the summer, we need better either way if we stay down or go up.

Here's a question, from what we know about schu and his plymouth team that romped league 1.... who do you reckon out of our current squad would he take and put into that plymouth team as a regular starter...?

There’s actually no point digging anyone out singularly these days. Collectively they just haven’t got the character or ability to defend and do the basics when the going gets tough. It ain’t their fault. Some have it some don’t and they weren’t brought in because of those attributes.

new gaffer bounce is over and it’s starting to expose that it was actually more than Just the old gaffer.

Keep us well away from those play offs, let Schuey rebuild for next season and we’ll go again with hopefully a bit more bite and nous

None of them !

On the flip side though, if you know your midfield is weak as piss the you play 3 out and out centre mids, not 2 like today.

My issue, and I’m certainly not holding anything against him until he has his players and has time to sort things, is how often the defence is changed. Another formation today, another left back and another CB combination. Just fucking choose a back 4/5 and stick with it unless you get injuries!
