My issue, and I’m certainly not holding anything against him until he has his players and has time to sort things, is how often the defence is changed. Another formation today, another left back and another CB combination. Just fucking choose a back 4/5 and stick with it unless you get injuries!

Good point don’t think Toal injury helped but tbh it’s the same old story  SS as a massive job on his hands and got to agree with BC forget play offs rebuild needed and try again next season , Evatt and Markham have a lot to answer for. 

We need a defensive rebuild , can’t possibly succeed conceding so many soft goals. In some ways it’s better this is highlighted now because basically SS can’t polish a turd .He needs to recruit his own defenders in the close season plus a seasoned striker & midfield ball winner.

Watched Stockport v Burton earlier & actually Burton were unlucky not to get at least a draw.What was noticeable is that Burton matched Stockport physically with that lump Sweeney generally taking care of Stockport’s forwards in a way we couldn’t last week. 
 

Today we were at it again , leaving a huge space on the edge of our box when they had a corner which directly led to their first goal. 
 

Thought Cogley & Morley were decent , Thomason had a stinker & the rest were average to say the least . How Gomez Mendes failed to connect with his head from two yards out defies logic , he has disappointed so far .

I get that , certainly in the second half and it was the right decision to sub him , but first half he did well . 

Morley I thought was superb . 

 

Evatt was right that a new manager wouldn’t be able to change much. It’s Evatt’s squad of course, but hard to blame SS for defeats at this point. 

Completely dominated today. Players weren’t gutless or lacking effort. They actually played pretty well. Lack of a true striker is, and will be, our shortfall. 16 points from 10 is about where this squad are. 

I think we’ll win at Wigan. And still think we have a play off shot. But we must cut out these soft goals we’re giving away.

How can Evatt not be to blame for the players he brought to the club and the batshit system he tried to impose? SS is doing his best and trying to be flexible with his system, but his only wide options are full backs and we spunked a million on a player who barely ever starts.

Our midfield is non existent and as been for along time hopefully SS will sort this for next season.

Very disappointing result. Probably should have got something from the game but we can't give away goals like we did today and expect anything. 

First half I thought we played pretty well and were the better team. Second half we seemed to run out of ideas but Morley had a couple decent shots, Mendes Gomes was about an inch away from heading it in and Forino could've scored at the end. Shit we lost but we weren't terrible imo.

Terrible signings in the summer full of lightweights all over the team. Need an old fashioned centre forward and centre half. A couple of nasty bastards in midfield and some real leaders on the pitch. We have really missed Dempsey this season. Today all that tippy tappy passing restarted even in the last five minutes. We couldn't get crosses in even when we had a giant on the pitch.  Can't believe how much swearing I did as chance after chance went begging to cross it first time or shoot from the edge of the box only for the ball to be passed sideways again.  Painful to watch is an understatement.

Blame the last manager for signing them give the new manager the time to sort it out. No system or new formation will make a difference with the players he as got 

Started both halves badly and were rightly punished.  Schumacher gets a free hit this season and I've every faith in him but conceding from a corner again, to an unmarked bloke on the edge of the box again, is poor.  That should have been sorted out on the training ground.

Was in the Blackpool end today and Bolton get battered is now a anthem for every local team we will here it again at Wigan midweek we don’t have a side built to cope with a derby game or a play off 

It's not purely a case of size. Desire and not stepping back, not feeling sorry for yourself when your not guiding the lily etc.

Bizarrely, we have shown just that at times, Birmingham, Huddersfield, even Wycombe all showed it.

Other times, the opposite. 

Almost a throw back to Wembley last season, with some seemingly feeling sorry for themselves that teams won't simply roll over for us.
