Paul Warne after Santos going to MK

That can’t be right unless they’ve been promoted 2 divisions 😂

Not questioning his ambition but he will go wherever he is offered most £££

Aye don’t blame him. Just expected a rolls Royce to move up a tad (sorry bells) it’s more aimed at everyone who thinks he was ace.

I also expect we will have been his biggest pay day.

I think he was ‘ace’ on his day.

Not sure those days will return, he is the prime one for me with the wrong attitude for a pro player. I know he was injured this season but he just seems to have given up

Doesn’t seem to have. He has.

Schumacher talking about the formation he wants to play in the article I read this morning, too many players in that can only play 5 at the back (or something like that) and he wants pace out wide, looks like 433 or 4231 coming up?

Really good article.

He’s obviously been reading WW this last few weeks.

Aye just seen this

Also sounds like he has a plan in place to avoid signing players who are injured all the time

He'll do for me, knows what's needed and how he's going to put it in place. Roll on a week Tuesday, the build starts then.

I'm always wary about recruiting to a specific shape or formation because I think it can leave a squad too rigid - we've seen that ourselves over the last couple of seasons

The rest of what he said was very encouraging though, and it seems he's seen what a lot of us have also seen

The interesting unknown is what Feargal's knowledge and contacts are, including in Europe. We may get one or two we know nowt about but he does

I will be amazed if we sign anyone I know anything about other than Ennis.
That is more because I know fuck all rather than anything else

We can only sign one more for as long as Schon remains on our books

Haha.

Close to home, club with plenty of money. Ticks the boxes to be fair. But yep, I’d assumed he’d be off to Liverpool or Arsenal 😂. Good luck to him. I like the fella but a little biased and can see why people have been frustrated with him recently. Even I’ll accept that his ‘injury’ this week is most likely self preservation.

Good man. Love your updates and glad you took it in good spirit. We should all have a laugh on here.

I do get it all and don’t really want to get you involved as you have a vested interest as a connection but sadly this year will be the freshest for a while.

Defo had some good times with him and I wish him well but I think he’s an epitome of the evatt regime and you’ll be shocked that my disdain for evatt is high.

I think it will be interesting for Santos as we will likely be his career highlight.

Oh I agree with all of that pal. It will be his career highlight. Him and Evatt were good for each other (and good for us to a point as well).

As for Evatt, I’m with you. I always look for the best in people, but he’s one with very few redeeming features.

Here’s to new faces and a new season.

Get rid of Steejay,  I'm surprised they're still letting him out of the care home without medical supervision.

Keep Marc505, he's got a plan for Notts County away if they go up.

Only one who has to go for me (who is still in contract) Mendes Gomes. I’m not sure if he is good at anything.

I'm surprised by that comment.  No problem with saying we need to move him on because he doesn't have a position and his poor injury record.  But when he plays, he looks like one of our better attackers.  One of the few (with Tutu & Matete) that can beat a man with a bit of skill, pace and strength.  Very direct, doesn't automatically look for the easy 10 yard sideways pass, wants to attack.  Can score (not many lately!)

MOM v Brum in one of his rare starts.  Inconsistent yes like 90% of the squad but has abilities that most others don't have.

I don’t see it sadly. I think he messes the system up when he’s in and in general contributes little. His injury record is horrendous too. It’s an opinions game on here. IIRC he’s had 1 good game in 2 years. Not good enough.

Agree its all about opinions and no dispute on his injury record, SS will get rid if possible based on that if nothing else.  Regarding 1 good game in 2 years, he's only started 2 this season, and (IMO) was MOM in one, a decent ratio!  Previous season started 3 league games.  Scored 4 goals!  Compared to a Cogley for eg (not having a go at him - Mr Reliable) - has something extra, I was just surprised you said he has no qualities but I think he's one of the few in the squad that does things the others can't do.

I think we need to bin off some of these injury prone players. Mendes gomes, he gets back from a big injury and by the time he's had a number of games to bet back to speed he gets injured again. He's been like this for 2 seasons, there are other players out there.

Adeboyejo, it's just not worked, get rid.

Jones has to go no two ways about it.

Santos, I think it's time for him to leave. With Jones and him leaving I think the club can properly move on from the Evatt Era.

Some of these players are at a good age still. Gomes & Victor together could fund a few signings even with their injuries.
