If his final ball was better he wouldn't be playing in division 3.

Although in recent times we've had Dapo and Kieran Lee, going back a bit further Morais and Ameobi.  Decent quality with their passing/crossing (that's no disrespect to JDC who has other abilities).

There is some quality to be had in L1, if you can get players who are a bit better than that level.  But that's where we're at currently, we have a team full of players playing at the highest level they'll play at, not their fault, but the recruitment hasn't been great considering the money spent (I'm not counting JDC in that who's been a great free transfer).

Given IE signed about twelvty players for one position that have all proved varying degrees of not good enough that's an understatement

Of course you’re probably right but you’d think it was something he would work on then maybe he wouldn’t be in Division 3?

I'm also sure for every player you could make a reel of positive action and make them look good

The problem with Etete was that you couldn't

I still don't get how SS gave him significant minutes at Reading with the score at 0-0 in a 6 pointer.

He either hadn't seen him play/train, or he was ignoring what he'd seen.

He’d been here one day😂

Only criticism should be aimed at the donkey lasher or Markham

He did give him more time once fit again though.

Maybe felt sorry for him.

He will be regarded as a bizarre, fleeting moment in the club's history fortunately.

No serious damage.

That's backing up my point, putting an untried player on that he'd never seen play, as if it was a BSM cup match or we were 2 up or 2 down.

He had seen him play. Said he'd considered him before.

Etete signed after Schumacher arrived but all the leg work had been done by Team Evatt. Given the distinct lack of strikers at the club it's only sensible for the manager to bring on the new signing to try and turn 0-0 to 1-0.

The Reading pen wasn't his worst moment that goes to the Good Friday game where he was outshone in both work rate and achievement by Big Dave making his first ever senior appearance.

McAtee was on the bench at Reading and Etete came on before him.  Vic started, so we had 4 strikers available.  We were drawing away, it wasn't a situation where you'd just try anything.

Anyway I don't feel that strongly about it, I just found it puzzling at the time, a very poor/unproven player getting a chance after about 1 day of training, ahead of regular 1st teamers.  But its now consigned to "last season"!

He's played over fifty times in the Championship, hasn't he?

Now, I'm currently struggling to understand how, but in that context it makes it a more understandable decision, especially if he thought we might've needed a bit of a physical presence up front

I accept Etete has been a shocking signing for us, but I suspect that he's a better footballer than we've seen to date.  Brief glimpse with his turn and shot last week albeit it went wide.  Hopefully he doesn't haunt us next season.

The issue is he's just not fit and it looks as if he hasn't been for at least 12 months.  Which makes his signing a real puzzle. You aren't playing yourself back to fitness when you're playing 5 minutes here and there. And in his case it's just aggravated various injuries.

I’d nearly forgotten about Scott Arfield. Good grief.

Says more about Scottish football. Woeful

Just read that article in the BEN about contracted players that might not fit into our system for next season and maybe lack of game time etc, sounds like certain contracted players are going to be frozen out, so go and find another club, that's how I'm reading it anyway.

Yes Blondi, that article interested me too. If injury issues are taken into account you’d have to think the likes of Demps, Toal and CMG are the most likely to be under pressure and if weakness is a consideration maybe Lolos and Sheehan. Unless they personally want to leave I’d dismiss any talk of Collins, McAtee or Randall going anywhere as I believe with stronger players physically around them and probably also a few more experienced heads they’ll benefit massively. Given his stalwart service in the past and considering that he’s still only 29 I’d also consider giving Geth another 12 months. Nobody can deny his attitude is good and with a good pre season in him he could still be a good asset?

Looks like that to me and let’s not forget Dan is back and he couldn’t get in the Cambridge starting 11 so he can be added to the list of injury prone players and we have several.

He's had an injury but starter the vast majority of games when there, their fans seemed to like him

He was on the bench a lot after his injury hamstring again and then didn’t even make the bench could be injured again .

The time's come for him and us to move on

No drama about it, just things coming to a natural end

I hope he gets a good send off today

Not sure who's contracts expire in 2026? But I think if certain players aren't going to play, they could well be loaned out for the remainder of their contract and at least that should free up some money for a few freebies that will fit into Schumacher's plans, think we'll have to take some losses on players we've paid fees for, but hopefully SS can grab a couple of gems as replacements.

Victor , cmg, southwood, forester,  , Tutu

Think from there I'd be looking to send out tutu and Cmg,

Think Victor will depend on how Big Dan and New Dan do..

No place for sentiment, Jones has been pivotal since he signed, played through his mothers illness and death, scored at Wembley will always deserve a good reception but he has been miles off the pace this season.

Thank you, good luck and a fond farewell.

Collins,McAtee and Randall would all go if we got decent offers for them, doubt we will.
