Fred Done (BetFred) lives within walking distance of me and if you saw his gaff, you'd realised why I don't bet. I'm too tight to give my hard earned to a billionaire blood sucker who preys on peoples misfortune.

I used to have a couple of quid on Acca's etc, but spoke to a guy who used to work for above mentioned property business. T&C's of some betting companies allow access to your online banking via open banking and they know when you've been paid. They know when your circumstances change and they know when to bleed you and when to block you by stacks and stacks of carefully put together data about what you're most likely to bet on. If they don't like what they think you'll do, they'll stop you from doing it before you even know you're going to.

They are absolute scum-bags and whilst I don't necessarily agree that gambling should be banned per se, I think it needs to be way more heavily regulated. Credit checks (proper ones rather than just checking for CCJ's or bankruptcies) and no advertisements anywhere. Pitch side, footy shirts, TV etc.

Trouble is, most of these owners and CEO's are incredibly wealthy, have various businesses in different industries and have friends in high places

Like me, you will live within walking distance of his brother as well.  His house is also a beauty though but he only spends a few weeks a year there.

A good mate and old smoking companion moved out to Bangkok

Weed legal over there and they have the equivalent of sweet shops and ice cream vans selling it

He's had a dabble with the pre rolled stuff and ended up investing in a weed vape

Keeps promising to send me one in the post

Not sure if being legal reduces the risk of getting them laced with dodgy shit

But that's always been the case certainly with pills and coke over here, you're not getting anything pure and have no idea what it could be mixed up with

Weed definitely got stronger over the years presumably for similar reasons

As for @Ani's view, I'd say golden gamble is like having a no drugs policy but happy selling booze at the kiosks

And it's a token gesture at best given you don't need the kiosks any more to put bets on what with mobiles

In case you don't know where to go there's sky bet ads next to the goals and on the players shirts

How many other grounds still have betting kiosks?

I can't imagine it's many

Particularly any which are cashless

I was also confused when we announced that partnership

It’s as if her principles like all millionaires are only valid when it’s not worth it for them.

I imagine they get more from the gambling partnership than they would for betting kiosks

Do not know but the presence in grounds was also marketing for the bookies, win in the ground and collect on line means they end up with more on line accounts, which is where the real profit is made I think.
