Stevenage (A)

Are we assuming will be postponed due to International call ups ?

ACD must be close to U21s if he made long squad last time. Not sure what Stevenage have and if any earlier postponements they had were due to other teams ?

Bradford at home is the week after and away tickets for that were sold out last week. No mention that I have seen about these.

  • This is a massive game, can we get some momentum ? Or was Saturday a blip ?    As far as possible I would keep the team as is. I get people putting McAtee forward but for it almost feels as tho

What will happen is that other managers will work out this formation, as well. What we have introduced is a variation to how we set up. As @Tombwfc rightly says, yesterday does not mean we will play l

How shit was Johnston tonight, fortunately it didn’t cost us today but been saying for weeks he’s the weak link.

Someone said earlier, we need someone in the middle who can run with the ball and drive and the opposition and that’s spot on. We need a Frandsen. Sheehans comfortable on the ball with half a yard but can’t do that. Simon’s is shite and Erhahon looks like a fridge on legs.

Tutu, Toal, Dalby and Forino only ones to come away with credit for me. Dalby won some of his battles but didn’t get any decent service

Frustrating, but 4 points from these two games is good and clean sheets too.

corner slowly turning at the right time hopefully.

Some of our final balls are bloody woeful mind.

On to Saturday..

My only gripe, the crossing and final balls were woeful, even from set pieces.

It will have to do. Without that bad run of results before Wigan this would have been a welcome point.

With the occasional blips like Posh, Burton, Northampton we are defensively pretty sound but all year we have tended to lack that clinical edge at the other end.

That ref books us for our first bad challenge; that Philips had done about 10

One of his tackles was so late, the cameras didn’t even pick it up

Pissing me off SKY; who wants to see the rain and supporters leaving whilst the ball is in play

I thought the rain was more positive going forward than us

Good point against a shithouse team in awful conditions. Went a bit Evatt esque  Sheehan getting clattered and no protection.

Wont go up with any combination of Dalby, Burstow, Mcatee and Forss

TuTU best player on the park

Must have been an advertisement deal for that gilet their manager was wearing, I have no clue what he was called so why do you keep showing him, it was like the Colombia v England game in 2018 WC were they kept showing James Rodriguez watching match.

Tutu’s form recently has been a real positive.

He’ll get injured now

How can you slag a centre back when we didn't concede a goal and were rarely threatened?

Committed a silly tackle but so did their cunt of a number 8 about 30 times.

Johnston really suits a back 3/5. He’s not a concern for me defensively.

Burstow was wank again can’t trap a ball at the minute it’s bouncing off him . Tutu was the best out there dalby needs crosses otherwise he is a waste of space mactee is at Least giving it is all but no quality yet again

I thought so tonight, in an alehouse game in shit conditions he held up well in both aspects of the game. Not a full back but pretty effective in the shape we've used Sat and tonight.

Because he’s a fucking donkey. The couple half chances the had, headers from corners were his man. Needlessly putting it Into touch at every opportunity despite knowing they’re aiming for long throws, nearly gave a pen away which was a pen. Picked up a silly yellow and couldn’t make a 5 yard pass.

Forino > Johnston

Is that enough of an explanation?

Well your right if the aim isn’t to go up

There aren't many sides going to win there.

If needing to win this one particular game determines promotion, then no one will be promoted.

The likes of Doncaster, Peterborough and Burton were far more detrimental.

Fortunately, we still do have time, but we will need to score more goals- both home and away.

First half ACD followed Tutu in crossing low and not beating the first man, 2nd half, Sheehan twice as freekicks from either side, both easily cleared, Toal does an underhit long field switch intercepted that led to a break, JM does a drilled cross that led to GJ being late and getting a yellow, chance for a counter in injury time and Gale over hits the pass to JM.

Carelessness, if you can't play well in general play, there are still opportunities to snatch something from a moment of quality, the game was just filled with errors, I dunno if others noticed it, but both team were doing short passes near the touchline and they passed to no one and gave the ball away for a throw in, then the camera man would switch to some random stuff and when it went back live again the ball had been turned over again, goalkeepers kicking to the opposition time and time again also, I'll remember this game for these next few hours before sleep but will happily let it slip into the back of mind and be forgotten,

Yes he took a painful one for the team they were on the break didnt think he did much wrong there

Burstow and Forss I’d send back if we can get better replacements in.

Dull as fuck.

Essentially we’re a bit shite

Tutu really good throughout and another good cameo from McAtee, maybe should have scored tbh.

Would have taken 4 points from Wigan / Stevenage.

Win the next 2 at home, we are right in it.

Don't think we can mate

I think before these 2 games if you said we'd pick up 4 points at Wigan away and Stevenage away, you'd definitely take it

2 clean sheets in a row for the new keeper as well. Definitely gives us something to build.

I have no doubt that Schuey & Fergal are already working on multiple signings and especially attackers that can start adding goals that we desperately need.

Hopefully one or two on before the weekend and the 2 home games coming up.

There's teams above us playing each other during those games.

We have to take the initiative now and we could be in a strong position this time next week.

I think you're being a bit dramatic.

Look miles more solid with Forino in that back line. Gives us presence, strength, height and a bit of pace.

3 at the back has to be the way forward as it stands as I don’t think we can trust any of them in a 2 man partnership

We've played two poor attacking sides but in difficult aways and rarely looked like conceding over 180 minutes. Whatever SS decides to do at home its the foundation for a solid run in away.
