FFS, don't be silly. You'd look even more 'fetching' as the Private Dick.

Aye.....during my time,  Utd were the only ones to "take" the Lever End & chase Bolton fans out , though Chelsea got the better of it, they couldn't clear us out !!

Others who tried & failed were Leicester, Man City in the night cup game ( best atmosphere ever for me with 2 huge mobs in the Lever End ), Sheff Wednesday, Stoke in the Sunday game was brutal, & Forest smaller in numbers but with some hard bastard "greasers".

Hull, Luton & B/pool  made very shortlived efforts.

I believe from the elders that further back, L/pool & B/burn !! went on the Lever End.

Accuracy. Well done.

Utd took it the following season, there were fucking millions of the cunts.

That was it, just them two. Leicester and Boro both had a proper go but ended up coming unstuck.

Yeah they were all over the place .

Lever End wasn’t taken by them.

@bolty58 has a great story from that day.

The clockwork orange guys were actually Arsenal fans who lived in Bedford but joined Luton for the day.

I was with about 5/6 of my mates at the top of the car park when they came down Manny Rd and these guys were at the front of a mob about 50 strong so we kindly moved out of the way.

They piled into the Lever End but lasted about 15 minutes before they got scattered all over the place. There weren’t countless darts thrown, that’s a myth.

But, fair play to ‘em, we hadn’t seen anything like it before.

I remember waiting for their train arriving at Trinity St and thought fucking hell when they piled out. A few skirmishes down Manny Rd as I recall and I am ashamed to say I nutted one of them. Some made it into the Lever End and I remember one of them lying in a pool of piss in the stones with a gashed head.

It was surreal.

Bookies can’t call it today, would probably take a point.

hopefully they are blowing out their arse 2nd half with playing midweek and we can pick them off.

No restrictions for the cup game the other season, decent enough boozers.

You’re not allowed to eat bacon butties on the walk to the ground, though.

Understandable - I’m still not 100% certain of where we sit in the pecking order this season despite watching every game, as we do some things well and others not so much.
Bigger test than most today and I’m praying we play well and win it and start moving up the away form table.

It would be nice if Barnsley and Stockport cancel each other out in the early game too, just to set the mood for a good win.

Nottingham Forest had the entire Lever End in the late 70s.

I think they arrived early on boxing day and it was passing down so the police put them in there.

3,000 plus of them and the Bolton fans got drenched on the embankment.

Don’t think forest had all the lever end  I remember it divided down the middle and we had the other side, lots of bricks and slates chucked across. Same for the West Brom game. United took it only because they were on there before Bolton had mobbed up in sufficient numbers… I was manchester road seats with an older relative I was was 11…. surrounded by united fans and that’s where my hatred for Man U came from as well as surrounded by them in LH… also remember 30-40 millwall… probably Harry the dogs mob trying and failing. I was also in the lever end when Chelsea took it ended up getting chased and jumping over turnstiles… later paid back into the lever end stood near the burnden paddock there was plenty older Bolton fans stood there I was about 13. Mad times…. Brilliant days.

JDC in to counter their quick winger is the right choice imo.

Forino must still have a knock.

A lot of depth on that bench.

As expected.

Glad to see 3 more genuine midfielders and a full back on the bench.

Still don’t get the inclusion of 2 players for the same place on the bench (McAtee and Forss) but it’s hardly a big deal.

Morley is an interesting call, as are Tutu & Dacres-Cogley.

I like D-C but Christie offers a different solidity. I'm not anti Tutu either, maybe Gale needs a bit of care. Erhahon maybe also bit he'd get my call over Morley.

Anyway, I'm not the manager.
