Could be 4/5 changes for this - Wouldn’t be surprised to see Tutu, Simons, Dempsey, Cissoko and  Burstow start

I think you’re right, we definitely look better when we play forward quicker and that does involve risk. And I agree controlling the game tires the opposition and we need players out there with pace and energy (Tutu or Cogley today please)

I just hope as fans we are patient and understanding that all approaches at L1 are imperfect. We may keep the ball a little longer than needed, settle for a safe pass or play a forward pass that is risky and doesn’t reach its target and as a result frustrations need to be tempered.

Against Rotherham there were numerous times where players made forward runs into space yet were completely ignored as the ball went sideways, back or the player ran into trouble losing the ball altogether and it’s that that people find frustrating.

I’m not sure either how a forward pass is any more risky than any other pass and I would have thought less so than a sideways or backwards one.

We see every week on the EFL highlights comical goals given away as teams play sideways instead of forwards or just clearing it so for me get the ball forward more quickly and into the opposition half where we want to be playing. That doesn’t mean hoof ball just a more positive mind set.

Do you really think Toal and Johnston knocking balls square under no pressure is more risky than someone trying to play a ball into midfield for a player making a run ?

Forward passes are usually being played into areas where there are more opposition players, hence more risk of losing the ball.

If we were having lots of the ball but hardly creating chances/having shots then it's more of a worry.

We literally have the most shots and one of the highest expected goals in the league.

We can't be having 28 shots against Rotherham from just Toal & Johnston can we.

In virtually every game so far we have been mostly the better team. Even in the losses, 3-0 to Burton we missed a big chance then gave a penalty away, Northampton exactly the same, Wycombe we were the much better side but 2 minutes of madness cost us.

What we are doing is working, I think we just gotta get better at it and there's more of an emphasis on the players to be efficient in both boxes.

Yes I do and so should you because we’ve been caught out ourselves in the past passing around the back but I’m not talking about defenders passing sensibly to each other to create an opening I’m talking about the lack of tempo it results in. As far as I can see there’s risk in any pass if it’s misplaced and how many times have we had the ball in the oppositions box and a few passes later we’re nearly conceding and that happened 3 times early on against Rotherham in case you missed it and we were lucky they didn’t convert the crosses which would have changed the game.
 

My point is that we somehow seem to have fallen back into a slow lethargic system where players always look to pass sideways before looking for a runner through the block. I think we’re wasting our talent because we have players of pace who can make those intelligent runs and they just need an equally intelligent player to make those passes. That’s where I believe Randall can fit in because he’s arguably the best we’ve got at that but if nobody moves in front of him what’s he supposed to do?

Happy with that team, i hope Randall can kick on from the last performance and grab a goal. Would have preferred Erahon in the middle, but presume just being sensible afer the cramp at the weekend so makes sense, hope he shows his early season form. No JDC again, surely he is off, a risk not having any cover for either full back.

Team ok......Problem with the bench. Either full back gets injured we have no replacement. I do not like Cogley but i would have played him and have TuTu on the bench.

Erhahon hopefully is just a minor knock.

Seems both Taylor and Cogley may be off

Dont mind the team but worried about Tutu at right back. With Dalby playing we need to get the ball into the box, otherwise whats the point.

I'd be very surprised if we was let go, but its possible he's spat his dummy out.
