Meanwhile in Iran

No tags, links or clips by myself

Just a recommendation which I've mentioned before

Watch Bitter Lake by Adam Curtis

It's the closest explanation I've seen to our relatively modern fucked up world

Iran, Israel, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq, Cyprus.

US troops killed and planes crashed.

Civilian deaths mounting.

Going well isn’t it.

I’m sure there’s a clear end game though.

Dear me, this is a huge conflict.

The damage Iran has achieved is minimal when looking the the number of missiles and drones they had.

Trump warned they would suffer casualties, and so far they have been very small.

It's been months, if not years in the planning, with remarkable levels of intelligence available.

Obviously, there will always be some aspects that could have been done better, but war isn't a precise science, where numbers always add up.

The continued sardonic comments are somewhat ignorant, and are without doubt largely based on the fact that Trump is the President.

The bloke is a cunt, but it is vital to take personal views out of it when making assessments.

So yes, it's actually going pretty well all things considered.

Trump is a massive cunt. Correct

You seriously think an addled cunt like that won’t leave an absolute shitshow and power vacuum behind?

It’ll be fucked for years.

American fighter jets seem to be getting shot down over Kuwait.

Iranians must be good snipers

Friendly fire from the reports I've seen, possibly 2 shot down as well.

They could do with not having SA and the rest of them join in otherwise that airspace is going to become even more of a mare to manage!

Aye seems more likely friendly fire, must be chaos at the moment to make that mistake twice!

I can imagine US will be fuming, especially the crews.

Its mad that in this modern world of smart phones and social media weve already got footage of one of the planes being hit, and uncensored images of all the pilots/WSOs on the ground. One of them is being made to surrender! Not great for security really.

My first thoughts were friendly fire.

I doubt Iran has such an anti aircraft set up capable of reaching so far. Especially now.

As you say, reports suggest that it is.

If those images of an American radar being destroyed are accurate, then that won't help matters.

Trump aside I just think this is a guaranteed mess.  With the Bush/Blair war before I naively believed them about WOMD. You only have to look with despair at what followed post Saddam. The Arab spring was a disaster. That’s why I’m shaking my head with going after Iran like this. Yes the ayatollah was a despot, but deary me - this is so predictable what’s happening. I just hope  the outcome is not worse.

Jesus, 3 shot down to friendly fire in such a short period is unprecedented. I would not want to be the air defence commander on the other end of the phone to whichever US official calls them about this!

What is the actual end game here, I assume it's to totally wipe out any/all the current leadership, and then install some sort of puppet Government is it??

Trump himself said yesterday he expects to take up to 4 weeks to fulfill all their objectives. Some other military dude on the radio then said it could be a couple of years, so fuck knows how long this will all take.

I'd expect in the coming days for a few terrorist cells in the US and Europe to be sparking themselves into life as well, sadly.

There's a massive dollop of amnesia going around by the looks of it. Mad that cunts are cheering it on

Do we think this would have happened without noncey bollocks and his Epstein files?

He was talking about taking over Cuba yesterday. He's certainly keeping busy.

Well at least it’s their own lads they are shooting down and not ours

Friendly fire is an odd term

Sorry lads, we didn't mean it, thought you were someone else

That's ok, don't worry about it, these things happen

Bit like "honour killing".

You would believe looking at it on paper it has a air of respect and nobility to it. Like a Samurai warrior was somehow involved.

Nah lads, It's just murder..  a good old fashioned murdering.

Thinking about Ukraine - the increase in oil prices is very good news for Russia presumably. As is the world's collective shift in attention.

Note a couple of drones launched towards our bases in Cyprus but shot down. This would well draw us in I think. It certainly gives us a pretext should we need one.

It was the justification offered for allowing the US to use our military bases, I think

Ah - I thought this was subsequent to that?

You're right, it was a couple of hours afterwards

The justification was Iran bombing the bases of allies in other countries

Although I suspect we might've had an inkling an attack on one of ours was likely imminent

Trump won’t put boots on the ground which is a major up grade from the previous presidents.
The area is in much better shape not long ago you had isis running its own caliphate , syria civil war Iraq in fighting , Iran and its proxies They are all in a Better shape not ideal but it never will . Irans  proxies are weakened and Iran now on the brink last man standing

So he’s an upgrade from the previous presidents who you then suggest have already made the area better?

I can hear this conversation taking place in every Wetherspoons Monday Club across England.

I can hear this conversation taking place in every Wetherspoons Monday Club across England.

And then when there are "boots on the ground", they'll twist their argument again. You'll probably see it on here, never mind in Wetherspoons.

Military expert on wireless at lunchtime was saying Starmer has got the balance right. Reported in Telegraph. Today Trump said he was too slow to agree. Apparently KS was worried about the legality of the according to the Don. But once other countries were attacked KS agreed to using bases to help defend those countries. Needless to say some people saying this was a U turn.

The guy implied rather heavily that KS refusal to just let the bases be used would have happened during the planning of the attacks, which would have just as The Don decided to criticise the Chagos deal.
