Meanwhile in Iran

Just a recommendation which I've mentioned before

Watch Bitter Lake by Adam Curtis

It's the closest explanation I've seen to our relatively modern fucked up world

I've read there's some RAF/RN F-35's in the mix with that lot, possibly a combat debut for them.

F-35 gets major grief from people for how disastrous its development was but its a seriously capable machine, and loads of its capabilities still apparently a secret.

And just read from an account that can track messages sent to aircraft text message systems, someone has messaged the RAF tanker "just for awareness you are currently showing on Flight Radar"!

so

Saturday

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2026/02/28/trump-iran-war-regime-change-freedom/

Trump: ‘Freedom’ for Iran is goal of ‘major military operation’
The president spoke to The Washington Post early Saturday after announcing that the U.S. had begun striking Iran to bring about regime change.

Tuesday

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5762761-hegeseth-caine-iran-pentagon-briefing/

Though Trump has urged the Iranian people to topple their leaders, the Pentagon chief said the U.S. goal in Iran is not regime change like it was in Iraq and Afghanistan.

so

it sounds like they want to destroy their ballistic missiles, but killed the leaders in the process

and if it's not about regime change, it sounds to me like they're going to leave it as is, with another power vacuum waiting to be filled

we'll see I guess

They'll be blaming the Government in a couple of months when inflation shoots up too.

Apart from Pete Hesgeth, Nehenyahu and the Don saying so. Have we actually got any evidence that Iran were close to developing anywhere.

Because sure as shit they'll be accelerating whatever programme they did or didn't have right now.

Do you want evidence of Iranian state sponsored terrorist atrocities over the last few decades?

More than enough justification to exterminate their cuntish 'leaders' and anyone who supports them as far as I am concerned.

I know we were told not too long ago that their nuclear program had been totally obliterated, and they'd been set back decades. Unless that wasn't true of course...

Some people have absolutely no vision beyond absolutely straight ahead. The nuclear issue is merely a premise for absolutely necessary regime change. You were told this when the military build up started.

I want someone to put that question directly to Trump, or that lunatic Hesgeth.

Secretary of War, my word.

I rest my case m'lud.

Why are folk on here so keen to see British servicemen killed?

It’s fucking weird.

No one is and you know it. So keen to see the worlds biggest sponsor of terrorism obliterated. Oh yes.

I saw a number of those stratotankers were in the air, and some over Jordan.

One RAF support aircraft too.

One BA (iirc) commercial aircraft heading from and to Heathrow too.

It has recently landed back.

Will need a fair few more.

Why is it?

That terrorism is here, on our streets.

In various guises.

Even if it is felt we've haven't can't offer much in terms of offensive effort, then having naval cover as protection should be the minimum.

That terrorism has seen many thousands killed internally.

That terrorism is and has been missiles capable of striking Europe, and the will to use them.

What on earth is weird about wanting to stop that, and protect others and ourselves?

Anything else is fingers in the ears indifference at best, and appeasement at worst.

Take it you’re encouraging your lad to join up then?

Or it’s just others folks kids who should be killed?

Like I said, it’s fucking weird.

There is no chance we would play an aggressive role in a conflict between Israel and Iran.

Maybe some assistance defensively, to counter incoming missiles, as we have done before.

Such a move would have to go before parliament (as with Syrian and ISIS) and I don't see the PM et al even wanting the uk to play a part, so it wouldn't even get as far as the house.

Even then, it wouldn't pass.

Screeching at folk being racist & cowards.

We don’t need to go to war with Iran to fight terrorism

some might even argue such a war would make that situation worse

Yeah but if we get that couple released from prison who shouldn't have been in Iran in the first place then its all good

Stop being so wet

Do people actually think the US is going for Iran because of Terrorism?

Actually?

Will UK troops going to Iran stop arena bombings and knife attacks on our shores?

Will it fuck, it'd make it worse.

Just let the yanks twat the fuckers. They really don't need us.

If Russia decide to attack us I feel we'll need them
