gonzo Posted Wednesday at 15:08 Posted Wednesday at 15:08 We were actually in the Bradford end when we lost 2-1 when we went up in 93. Bryan Edwards got us complimentary tickets and we were in the players lounge after. He was Bradfords physio at the time. Quote
Tombwfc Posted Wednesday at 15:10 Posted Wednesday at 15:10 Have to say I don't really get the appeal of sitting in with home fans. Maybe if it was a once in a lifetime game or if you were going with a mate who was a fan of the home team. Beyond that it seems worse than watching on TV in every aspect. Quote

Not the best but was with the Bayern fans right next to the Bolton section and had a great time with them. Marseille was in the middle of their lunatics so kept quiet; they knew at the final whistle but was fine because they won. Was on my own in the Wolves end when we knocked them out the cup following beating Liverpool; good job I was only a few seats from the pitch. Few scuffles towards the back when we scored but the ones next to me said fuck all when I celebrated but I was ready to get out quick  Quote

Aye think TV has changed it massively. Back in the day not being in Maine Road that night was just not an option. Was either that or listen to Alan Fullalove camped by your radio. I don't expect to get Bradford away tickets, If I do it's a bonus, don't and it's a few beers and watch on the goggle. Not a chance I'd be schlepping 2 hours down the motorway on a Thursday night to sit in the home with the distinct chance of getting either my face smashed in or getting turfed out and probably a ban for good measure. It is 15 minutes on train for me , the others want to go but do not think I will. It is unenjoyable enough watching a game like this, done it before and it is the general moaning and bias around you that drove me mad. I actually went to Bradford v Northampton this year in stand we have next week, it is funny listening to drunk bias football fans when you are neutral. I did one ‘get the fuck in’ when we scored at Plymouth which I was following on a betting site 😂😎 Quote
Stig Posted Wednesday at 16:44 Posted Wednesday at 16:44 Tranmere away 3 nil loss in the league cup semi final. Sat in the home end and never doing it again Quote

Sat in the home end at Bramhall Lane once. Met an old uni mate who was a blades fan. We lost, he was weirder than he was at uni, and the overall experience was cack. Drive home was the best bit of the day. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted Wednesday at 17:18 Posted Wednesday at 17:18 Sat in home end at Lincoln the other year when we won 1-0 Had a ticket for our end which I let Mrs use and the PATG queue sold out about 3 people in front of me Walked straight in to club shop and bought for their end, and still get emails from them in to the bargain 😂 Quote
Cheese Posted Wednesday at 18:08 Posted Wednesday at 18:08 Only done it once, at Anfield on New Years Day 2007. There were 3 Liverpool ST holders who frequented my local and one of them couldn't make it, so let me use his ticket. The other 2 thought it was hilarious to stand up and point at me and shout "THIS LAD'S A BOLTON FAN!" as soon as the match kicked off, so I unzipped my jacket and sat there with my BWFC shirt on full display. We got bummed 3-0 so there was never any danger, just a lot of piss taking. Quote
desperado Posted Wednesday at 18:15 Author Posted Wednesday at 18:15 Few in hospitality. Their end; Crewe, Wolves, City (champions season) and ironically Bradford.… …I wouldn’t recommend it. 1996, 2-4 win. Went on my own, upper tier at side, got in as Tommo scored, must have given the game away immediately. Sat down on a row with few spaces. Two skinheads went either side of me, with one showing me a knife in his pocket! 😩 I’m trying tomorrow on fastest finger, but if I don’t I’ll be pubbing it over here. Quote
Winchester White Posted Wednesday at 18:25 Posted Wednesday at 18:25 Oldham away, must be 30 years ago, my dad's mate says he's got tickets. What he only told us on the way there was that ours was for the home end opposite side from the away supporters. Loads of Bolton in, kicking off all over, I was about 13/14 and we sat there not enjoying one bit of it. Pretty sure we lost 2-1 but could be wrong. Only nice part about it all was an old fella sat behind us ruffled my hair and said, 'Better luck next time' at the final whistle. Quote

That Stuart McCarthy scored who was at Bradford. Quote

Notts County (Coyle, 1-1), Preston (Ricketts winner). No desire to sit in the home end properly, going to the game is meant to be fun 😀 Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted Wednesday at 21:42 Posted Wednesday at 21:42 I've hosted a few fans of other clubs at our home games - its just not right though. Twice v Liverpool I've had a mate sat next to me supporting them (we won both). A West Ham fan in that relegation 6 pointer. A WBA fan in a game Campo scored for us. A Spurs fan travelled up from London and stood next to us in the Burnden Paddock for that 6-1 league cup win. Its just not right, it shouldn't be allowed, its dire for them and its spoils the game for us! Uncomfortable all round. Quote
Dennis Peacock Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Posted Wednesday at 21:52 I’ve done it quite a lot, back in the day - Stoke’s old ground (not a good idea), Barnsley, Wigan old and new, City old and new, United, Stockport, Sheff Utd. I’ve no interest in doing it these days - it’s no fun at all and especially when most games can be watched on streaming Quote

tomski Posted yesterday at 06:26 Posted yesterday at 06:26 (edited) Have done it plenty of times but on reflection it does seem a bit pointless now with the games being on tele. I was escorted in to the away fans at Southampton I want to say 2004 for a win as a few complained about my lack of neutrality. Best I know of was a chap who used to post on here had to go in the Newcastle end for the Boxing Day 4-3 game here.  Good luck to all in the scramble today. I wish I wouldn’t bother but I absolutely will.   Edited yesterday at 06:27 by tomski Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted yesterday at 07:01 Posted yesterday at 07:01 (edited) Back in the 90's, done it at Birmingham,Derby, Villa, Bristol City, Burnley and Wigan. Can't say i actually enjoyed any of them apart from Wigan and Burnley (we only need 9 men) & that wasn't without its hairy moments. Edited yesterday at 07:15 by Burndens Bogs Quote
BeeversLeftPeg Posted yesterday at 07:29 Posted yesterday at 07:29 Done OT twice in the home end but as a Swinton lad not much of a giveaway in accent, and generally there's not much bother us from them lot. Did Accrington hospitality years ago in the pizza cup when Keith Hill was here. They've done it up since but at the time it was essentially a labour club set up. Marc Iles doing his pre-match set up on the pool table in the corner 😂 Wouldn't consider it anywhere else, not an enjoyable experience at all. Bad enough having a pint in the home boozers sometimes! Andybarm Posted yesterday at 08:38 Posted yesterday at 08:38 I've been signed into the tickets page, on one browser since 8:30. Does it just automatically refresh when the queue starts or when the tickets go on sale at 10? I remember someone saying a while back its best not to refresh the page. Any help appreciated. Ta Quote

Ta I'm not being funny, but this is what fucks the system up, thousands of people all logged in for hours before they go on sale. It's highly likely you'll be logged out after a certain amount of time. Quote
