derek smalls Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 At least the whole "why did we sign Borgetti" mystery has been solved??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? so it wasnt because he was Mexicos all time record scorer who wanted to spend time in Europe before the World Cup then?
Traf Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 My friend who works at the BBC says there's lots more to come about our illustious leader.
Mixu Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) so it wasnt because he was Mexicos all time record scorer who wanted to spend time in Europe before the World Cup then? You and I will probably never know Deggsy, will we? One thing I will say, though. Ali Al HAbsi...............WTF. 3 netters in a side that is notoriously thin..............and he got a mention. Carlos Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 You and I will probably never know Deggsy, will we? So why are you implying that you know different? Put up or shut up.
Mixu Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 So why are you implying that you know different? Put up or shut up. (Carlos)No problem, all opinions are valid but those from sober folk carry more weight.
Traf Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Big Sale at the club shop tomorrow: Rose tinted spectacles.
maaarsh Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 The bit that got me was the pathetic attempt to claim bungs hurt the fans bungs, if they occur, come out of shareholders and owners profits; they try to maximise revenue out of fans whether they get fucked over by agents or not, so that whole argument was just more spurious shite to try and manipulate people in to agreeing with the piss weak "evidence" they put forward
glossopWANDERER Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 just got back from walsall and have to say all the talk on 5 live after the game is very worrying, sounds like we are in all kinds of trouble with this coming out its headline news on every news channel. i just hope sam can come thru this and still be in charge next monday but im not living in great hope after what i have seen and heard so far.
Guest The Special One Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 well i'm guilty of bungs too then i've paid people to give me huge contracts and people have bunged me too for things, its a way of life who gives a f??ck
Casino Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 who gives a f??ck sums up my feelings very well goodnight all
Happy Wanderer Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Folk ringing into Live 5 stating that clubs (possible meaning us) should be relegated. Hell most of the fans wanted that anyway even without the programme being screened. It's just another stick to beat Bolto with imo
Mixu Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 The bit that got me was the pathetic attempt to claim bungs hurt the fans If a manager is paid an incentive(bung) to sign a player and that player spends his season sat in the stands on ??20,000 a week..............where's his wages coming from? Answer: You.
Exiled Girl Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 just got back from walsall and have to say all the talk on 5 live after the game is very worrying, sounds like we are in all kinds of trouble with this coming out its headline news on every news channel. Odd then that in the last 2 hours of having SSN on in the background, I haven't heard it mentioned once.
Happy Wanderer Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Odd then that in the last 2 hours of having SSN on in the background, I haven't heard it mentioned once. Aye they won't want folk switching channels would they.
Exiled Girl Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Aye they won't want folk switching channels would they. It's a BBC programme that's getting free publicity from other BBC programmes. Someone should do a documentary about how the BBC only trail BBC programmes. They carry more adverts than the commercial channels.
superbobby Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 My friend who works at the BBC says there's lots more to come about our illustious leader. Why didn't they show it then?? Enough time spent on the agents shadiness (which we all know about anyway), PG at the airport etc, if they had more on BSA they had ample opportunity to show it by dropping the waste of time bits. Anyone else lipread the club mentioned after Bolton by Temi? (must have forgotten to blank that out)?
yardbones Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Folk ringing into Live 5 stating that clubs (possible meaning us) should be relegated. Hell most of the fans wanted that anyway even without the programme being screened. It's just another stick to beat Bolto with imo If they start doing that there'll be about 4 or 5 teams left in the Premiership.
HR Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Do you think Dean Kiely was behind the 'I love Andy Todd' sting ?
wiggy Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I would like to start by making it clear that if Sam is PROVEN to have taken money from transfers then I will be the first person demanding that he is sacked. Managers already earn more in a week than 95% of fans earn in a year. For them to take bungs is like a slap in the face of people like you and me. That said, last night's Panorama programme was a disgrace. The BBC is supposed to be at the forefront of journalism and yet in 2 years on investigations they came up with absolutely no evidence of the corruption to which they repeatedly referred. If 18 managers are involved, why did they choose to use Allardyce and Bolton as a scapegoat and fail to name any of the others? If they have evidence then they surely had to include it in the show. What we ended up with last night was character assasination of an easy target and I'm not sure who actually came out worse - Sam or Panorama
kent_white Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I came on here last night after watching the Panorama programme. My first reaction was that Sam and the Club had some questions to answer. Having seen it again and taken stock, I think I was a little hasty. There isn't actually much hard evidence in it at all. It does however prove that salespeople talk a lot of sh*t when they are touting for business. The Clubs name is being dragged through the mud without anything substantial to back it up other than a few conversations which have been cut and pasted and no doubt taken out of context.
wiggy Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 anywhere available to watch online? Ordinarily you are able to watch the last Panorama programme via this link.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/panorama/default.stm However funnily enough it wasn't updated the last time that I checked.
YATESY Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 If 18 managers are involved, why did they choose to use Allardyce and Bolton as a scapegoat and fail to name any of the others? The only reason for me, why we got choosen was the words of the first agent featured. Temi probably mentioned a few clubs (4 or 5 he said) but after investigation it was only Bolton that produced a useable thread of 'evidence' that the BBC could use. The biggest input into us being framed was Craig. He came across so naive and loose lipped, it was quite unbelievable. Especially on that phone call; even after the caller introduced himself as a BBC reporter, Craig still kept talking about receiving illegal payments. * * one thing Panaroma did prove was that Craig received illegal payments, as his name was not on the official paperwork. If, as Craig stated numerous times, Sam knew about these - then Sam is brought into the world of bungs indirectly via his son, rather than directly with payment to Sam. By the way, I do think this will bring the club together and make us stronger - us against the world mentality.

Snow_white Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Is it just another slight by the BBC against the club we all love. Since 1958 the Beeb have had it in for us, just think of the poor coverage we get off MOTD. 7 Premiership managers were suppose to be involved but only our man is being dragged through the mud. Listening to 5 Live last night after the match it took an hour before they even mentioned Redknapp, and then was just brushed over before going back to vilify a man who as yet has been proved to have committed any 'crime'. Remember innocent til proven guilty, and the burden of proof is with the BBC and if there was any surely they would have included it in there programme. I just pray to God that this does not upset and derail our beloved club.
