Mounts Kipper Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Pal of mine a long term season ticket holder on leaving the ground on saturday slipped and dislocated his knee cap, needless to say he rang the club to tell them what happened and to advise them that the floor was dangerous when wet. The response was basically shit happens and offered not a crumb of comfort, he is seriously pissed of with the club and because of there attitude has spoken to a solicitor, what he needs to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Traf Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Where there's blame...................................... ?5,000 I reckon.
wayne cramp Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I SAW HIM ON THE FLOOR WITH PARAMEDICS WHEN I WAS WALKING OUT - EVEN SAID TO MY SON AT THE TIME THAT I BET THE BLOKE HAD SLIPPED ON SPILT ALE. PRETTY SURE HE WILL HAVE WITNESSES AND I AINT NO LEGAL EAGLE BUT A FEW YEARS AGO MY EX SLIPPED ON SPILT ALE AT GMEX AND BROKE HER ELBOW - SETTLED OUT OF COURT FOR 8 GRAND , SOUNDS THE SAME SITUATION TO ME - BWFC MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE, I KNOW IF IT WAS ME I WOULD DEFINATELY GET A SOLICITOR ONTO IT ASAP .
Whites man Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Back in the 80's some free loader fell whilst watching over the back of the embankment, must have been pre-Normid, & sued the club. People go on about health & safety being taken to the extreme but maybe this is because as soon as there is an accident it's all "get a claim in"?
no balls Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 People go on about health & safety being taken to the extreme but maybe this is because as soon as there is an accident it's all "get a claim in"? And all these claims have got to be costing us money somewhere, surely?
Burndens Bogs Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 That floor IS fookin' slippy, surprised it's not happened loads of times Get a decent solicitor, and get a claim in - the club will think they can deter legal action by ridiculing your case - B?LL?CKS, they have public liability insurance for this kind of thing.
jayjayoghani Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Was it this stuff just out of interest? Might need to know like...

Traf Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Was it this stuff just out of interest? Might need to know like... Nope, just plain concrete!

Cause: People spill drinks Cause: BWFC sell drinks Logical conclusion: BWFC stop selling liquids so they cant get sued. Discuss

jayjayoghani Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Nope, just plain concrete! Cheers. It's called Altro and is quite a popular flooring.
Traf Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Altro's like a heavy-duty non-slip vinyl, is it not? The Reebok bar areas are plain old concrete or asphalt. Cheap job.

I can assure you that the bloke in question was not interested in the money despite his knee cap being the wrong way round and having to take at least a month off work, but when the club treat a lifelong fan with utter contempt he felt aggrieved and decided on this course of action.
