jonathan
Seen it on a few websites and also an interview on SSN. Looks we've got him til at least 2012. Now all we need is Al Habsi and Ricki G signed up and the club can focus on strengthening other positions
Manny
Not had SSN on so not seen anything other than the Setanta site. Not on the BWFC site either (yet). http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Foo...olton-contract/ Jussi Jaaskelainen has finally ended the will he-won?t he debate over his future by signing a new contract with Bolton. Jaaskelainen has penned a four-year deal at The Reebok Stadium, where he will surely now end his career. The Finland international looked set to leave the club halfway through last season when he stalled over signing a fresh deal. Aston Villa appeared to be favourites to land the veteran shot-stopper, but then Jaaskelainen revealed he might stay at Bolton after all. The 33-year-old has played for The Trotters for 11 years, racking up 345 league appearances. His new deal means he could now reach the 500-marker before he retires. Boltimore
Great keeper but i think he fell away a bit this season - maybe because we struggled but i hope Ali stays because im not too confident with having to rely on Walker. Im bit worried that Jussi might have injury problems from now on??

jonathan
Try not to worry. If Al Habsi does stay on for anoher 4 years or so then i think that would be good in terms of the long term plans for the club. It seems that Megson and Gartside want to bring in players not just for now but that will last for the enxt few years so there isn't much chopping and changing. The goalkeeping position (if Habsi stays) won't need to be addressed for many more years Steinsson and Hunt are both young and will last many more years at the club and are on long term contracts Cahill and O'Brien will prob stay for the next few years (although need to get A O'B signed on a new long term deal as only 1 year left) If Gardner signs then him and samuel mean that te left back position doesn't need to be addressed for another few years Nolan, Muamba, McCann, Cohen, Taylor and O'Brien are secured for the long term which solves many of the midfield positions And Elmander and Davies up front are good in the long term Therefore with a lot of the squad tied down and hear for the enxt few years it is just one or two positions that the club need to resolve and that can be done this summer and in January if need be. The 1st team is pretty sound and shouldn't put us in danger of relegation. I think Gartside and Megson are taking a leaf out of clubs like Everton and Blackburn in slowly over 2 or 3 years building a team and a squad that will serve them in the long term. But in order to do this they needed to grind out surviving in the Prem and against relegation danger. They have done that and now are benefitting from the experience. Great guy etc, but KD probably doesn't have a "long term", unless in footie that is 1 or 2 seasons?
jonathan
Great guy etc, but KD probably doesn't have a "long term", unless in footie that is 1 or 2 seasons? He is only 31 so he still has many more years considering the role and job he does up front. I think he still has 3 years left on his contract which is good. You think of what Big Dunc did for Everton playing til he was about 35 or so doing a similar job + i'm sure other forwards that also do something similar. He's not like an Henry or an owen who has bags of pace and once that begins to go his game becomes less useful.
