Traf Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Like that Hitler , he was a sound bloke, when he wasn't invading countries. Aye, mass genocide of approximately 6 million jews is exactly the same as missing a family fun day. Megson sickens me.
globaldiver Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Aye, mass genocide of approximately 6 million jews is exactly the same as missing a family fun day. Megson sickens me. He started it
pete harry Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Hang on. If this criticism is affecting the players how come we've won the last two games? Maybe it's having a positve effect. Perhaps we should up the ante. I suggest for the rest of the season we gradually erect a scaffold and by the time we lynch him in May we should be in the Champions League! Just a thought.
george Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Like that Hitler , he was a sound bloke, when he wasn't invading countries. and both made a name for themselves in Munich early in their respective careers of politics and managing Bolton Wanderers
mart32 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 and both made a name for themselves in Munich early in their respective careers of politics and managing Bolton Wanderers Glad you spotted the connection. In the Hafbrauhaus in Munich singing rule Brittania, and the national anthem on the night before the Munich game , in the place where Adolf made his rallying speeches. Fine evening. Megson's finest hour the next day.
globaldiver Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) Hitler was an Everton fan thought he was a munich? Edited November 12, 2008 by boltondiver

Zico Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 has mr megson only got one ball? aye and if we don't leave him alone he's taking it home
exiledwhite2 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I don,t really get why he is moaning. Because he's relentlessly negative and down
Chris T. Church Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Hang on. If this criticism is affecting the players how come we've won the last two games? Maybe it's having a positve effect. Perhaps we should up the ante. I suggest for the rest of the season we gradually erect a scaffold and by the time we lynch him in May we should be in the Champions League! Just a thought. Like it. We could make it into a family fun day and Megson's attendance would be 'mandatory'.
MickyD Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Because he's relentlessly negative and down Which, to me, is slightly better than Little Sammy Lee seeing only positives in defeat after defeat!
Tyler Durden Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Is no-one getting a bit bored by all this? He's not going anywhere, live with it and support the team on the pitch. Honest question to folk -- would you rather get into Europe with Megson... or finish 17th and have him sacked?
no balls Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Is no-one getting a bit bored by all this? I'm actually quite bored of the Lisbon debate now. Mart et al, he's not a mass murderer or a kiddie fiddler, he's a bloke who had the luck/misfortune to land himself a cracking job. Get f?cking over it! And Megson should know better than to go to the press about it, so you all want your heads banging together imo. Then again, Nolan mentioned this to the press the other week and the idiots didn't listen to him, probably because he's fat though! I think I've given up on this then.

Rembrandt Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 11 men against 11 men, it aint over till the ref blows the whistle and were all singing 'who are yer who are yer' to the skip-rats Exactly. But the ref apparently is Rob Styles. If Liverpool aren't winning going into added time, he'll carry on playing till he can give diving Gerrard a penalty or lurking Keane an offside goal.
Rembrandt Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Although many were against his appointment in the first place, even though most would agree he was better than the small scouse person, he made one fatal mistake: He dared to play the second team, even though the team was made up of players within the first team squad, in Portugal. His reasons were understood by all; to rest the first 11 in order that they are fresh enough to beat Wigan 3 or 4 days later. If the first teamers had gone to Wigan and won, Megson's team selection would have been seen as a masterstroke. Let's not go on about people paying to go to Lisbon to see Bolton win, they went for the craic as much as they went for the football; same for every UEFA Cup away game.Anyway, he came to keep us up and, eventually, did just that. Did he get any praise for this? No! The consensus on here was that he'd done a job but must now be replaced. People cited the Lisbon game and the negative tactics; any reason they could find. The Wanderers board aren't particularly known for being hatchet men. God forbid we were a club like Newcastle who can have as many as three or four managers in twelve months! Anyway, Gartside was never going to sack him for succeeding where Sammy Lee had failed. I'm not for a minute saying we should sing throughout the Liverpool game that hes our Ginger Mourinho or anything but certainly no booing . . . whatever the result. Let's be honest, a home loss against Liverpool is never going to be the end of the world is it? Don't forget, some fans were saying during last season that they wanted Megson replaced whether we stayed up or not, believing that he wasn't/isn't the best long-term choice. Too right ! As someone else said, a result tomorrow would be great but as long as we get a committed performance that'll do for now.
Rembrandt Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 What's the millstone? Megson or the team? Erm ...... I hesitate to point out the obvious (well, not really) and someone else may already have done so ..... but it's pretty much Megson's team by now.
Rembrandt Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Problem is.... we are a mediocre club. We get championship crowds and don't have the potential to be anything more than what we now are - a mid-table Premiership club who'll have the odd good cup run and the odd European tour. And if you start accepting that negative tosh and stop trying to better yourself you'll slip down the leagues .... as we know from experience.
Tyler Durden Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Dearie me, you and your loaded 'honest questions' Alright then, replace 'honest' with 'simple'. It is a simple question. Would you rather have success under Megson or failure and see the back of him?
Tyler Durden Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 And if you start accepting that negative tosh and stop trying to better yourself you'll slip down the leagues .... as we know from experience. There's a big big difference between negative and realistic. We are a medium sized club in a division where 6 out of the 20 are owned by billionaires. We're in a division with the other 15, and survival i all that matters. The club is trying to better itself - younger squad for starters. It takes time. Megson inherited a shitstorm (see article with FB), and it will take him/the club time. In the meantime, surviving is essential.
Horwich Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 I get it from my head. Ie The prediction threads. I predict we will lose. I predict Megson will get grief. I'd rather us win. He didnt get much grief. We were never gonna get anything out of todays game.
