THunter Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Thunder, what are you playing at letting facts get in the way of a good lynching? Shame on you!Sorry. Won't happen again. Megson out!
RayVon Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I think you will find that some people at the club where taken back by his approach to the event and indeed distroyed bridges that had been built. It's all his own doing and I have no respect for him. Someone has already mentioned Sporting Lisbon and that was the straw that broke the camels back for me. We could have beat Sporting as they where there for the taking. My dreams where shattered along with many others. Megson acts like he is only bothered about the players and winning games, well I tell you what, this is a town team with real fans who put money into the club and have supported the team all their lives and will remain loyal to the club when Megson has long gone. The club, manager/players alike would do well to remember who the supports the club. Ditto and exactly I think a return to Europe would turn me round!!!
whiteboy Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 it was tactical genius that won the game on saturday, people that know the game will understand
MickyD Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 OK, I'll agree, but explain to those who don't know the game why it's patently obvious to those of us who do.
exiledwhite2 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 if he is nt bothered about the fans opnions then shut up moaning about them. You've said that a couple of times now. I think it's worth highlighting, it's very true. The section of the crowd that don't like him will not respond positively to him bleating every time he's in the papers. It will entrench them further. What's more - it fools nobody. If it didn't bother him he wouldn't give it a second thought, but he's constantly sniping at the fans about it. In summary: he'd be better off shutting his mouth because it doesn't help. It's not a 'plea to the fans', it's actually a complaint and considering the money he earns and the opportunity he's been given, I find it hard to sympathise. Just put a team out that tries to win football matches and sometimes succeeds, and he may find the fans cut him some slack. If Jules Darby can become a cult hero then there's hope for Gary Megson!
Carlos Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I don't think I've ever been that critical of the bloke, and it's always been professional as he seemed genuine enough and I felt a bit sorry for him. Now I think he's a bit of a c?nt with his incessant moaning about out fans, it's overstepped the mark and has become personal. Therefore in my eyes, Megson is fair game.

But at what point does all this shit thrown at Megson start to affect the players or maybe affect the attitude of players that we are going to try and sign in the upcoming transfer window, also if half the effort was put in to shouting the team on, then the out and out griping at Megson then the Reebok would be a must more intimidating place to come and play

He's not mithered by it, but he says it's getting to the players now.
Horwich Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 Thats what Megson thinks! Not heard any of the players come out and say it is bothering their game. They will be concentrating on whats happening on the pitch.

Casino Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Spot on. I think you will find that some people at the club where taken back by his approach to the event and indeed distroyed bridges that had been built. It's all his own doing and I have no respect for him. Someone has already mentioned Sporting Lisbon and that was the straw that broke the camels back for me. no balls Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 were they bollocks our first team got outplayed the week before aye, our first team not sure allardyce ever did that in our uefa cup games certainly not against plovdiv two faced fcukers on here look, don't like the bloke cos we haven't won enough games but to hide behind lisbon is piss poor I'm actually quite bored of the Lisbon debate now. Stanley. I think you're right. The same folk who are still clinging onto that, appear to be the ones who think other folk should forgive and forget previous managers. As you say, two faced!
Traf Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Allardyce actually said he couldn't believe how many of us travelled to Bulgaria and how serious we'd all took it. He still put the reserves out!
RayVon Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) were they bollocks our first team got outplayed the week before aye, our first team not sure allardyce ever did that in our uefa cup games certainly not against plovdiv two faced fcukers on here look, don't like the bloke cos we haven't won enough games but to hide behind lisbon is piss poor We got passed Plovdiv and there is a diff taking the gamble against a poor side early doors than doing it at such a late stage against a side like Lisbon. If our 1st team got outplayed what was he expecting our 2nd string to do!! And the fact he all but forfeited the tie did it for me as I had spent alot of money to go there. I did feel optimistic about our strongest team beating Lisbon take it you didnt! So no not a 2 faced fcuker Didnt think Megson was the man for the job but I didnt turn up on day 1 and Jeer him I just got behind the team. I dont turn up and chant songs against him but get behind the team! Im bored to of all this to. Just think in a years time more people will class Megson as a bad influence than good That's what Megson's trying to say. He's not mithered by it, but he says it's getting to the players now. Then why have 2 or 3 come out and said how good the support as been over the last 3 or 4 games!! Edited November 12, 2008 by RayVon
BWFC_LOVE Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Megson has praised the fans on many occasions in the last 12 months, probably more so than Allardyce ever did in eight years. Asking fans to get off his back as it could affect the teams performance is understandable IMO. I don't rate him much as a manager, but I think he's a decent bloke if you ignore him not participating events, and like it or not, he's been a partially successful appointment thus far. He's done the job he came in to do. I've been extremely annoyed this season based on negativity, especially when we don't score at the Reebok. And yes, he's been given cash to spend. However, I doubt any realistic targets at the time of his appointment would've faired any better.
bolty58 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 The last two posts by Rayvon and BWFC Love sum it up perfectly for me. Abusing the bloke publicly will only help achieve the opposite of what we want. Just get behind them. The manager won't be changing soon so you may as well.
tyldesley_white Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Then why have 2 or 3 come out and said how good the support as been over the last 3 or 4 games!! And on the other hand why have 8 or 9 players kept there mouths shut
Mounts Kipper Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I don,t really get why he is moaning, the fans this season have been immense at home and away, they have backed the team to the hilt, O.K. we have heard 1 or 2 songs calling for Allardyce, but he Browny songs were a thankyou to him for the good work and respect he is held by Bolton Fans, Megson should lighten up concentrate on winning games with a little bit of flair and passion ,everything else will fall into place if he does that.
RayVon Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 And on the other hand why have 8 or 9 players kept there mouths shut Or on the other hand not one as come out and said its affecting their performance!!!
tyldesley_white Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Or on the other hand not one as come out and said its affecting their performance!!! But a lot have come out backing Megson, which is the same as telling the numbnuts to shut the fcuk up.
Traf Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 But a lot have come out backing Megson, which is the same as telling the numbnuts to shut the fcuk up. That's pretty much how I view it.

bolty58 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Like that Hitler , he was a sound bloke, when he wasn't invading countries. Now there's a comparison very few could make! Gary Megson and Adolf Hitler.
