bolty58 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I bet he'll be loving the weather this morning. Can I mention the weather? Thought not
Guest YW Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Djorkaeff wasn't getting a game in germanyN'gotty wasn't getting a game neither was JJ JSL Youri,N'Gotty,JJ werent released by a fooking MLS club for goodness sake!!!!!!!! tool
YATESY Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 If this trial was in the summer, I would be far more positive. A trial in January for a player who has failed to make it in Saudi, USA and back in his homeland - even though he is just 31 - says to me that he may just be ready for a run out in one of the toughest and quickest leagues in the world by this time next year. As a few on here have said, Jardel springs to mind BUT to be positive (my New Years resolution!!) its only on trial, so we have nothing to lose, and it maybe shows Megson is looking beyond the midfield slugger that we have enough of already.
Burndens Bogs Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I bet he'll be loving the weather this morning. Aye bet he is. Brazil to Bolton in how many moves? Career advancement at it's finest.
LHBWFC Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Well it aint costing us anything so it's worth the gamble. I would love it to pay off Yep its better to have cover if anything. Some people are never happy on here
Sweep Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I don't see how we can lose, as things stand. We are giving him a trial, if he looks useful, we may offer him a contract, if he doesn't look up to it we'll let him go. If we did fancy signing him, I would expect there would be a very low (in footballer terms) wage, followed by decent appearance money - no way will he be offered top money straight off
frank_spencer Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Youri,N'Gotty,JJ werent released by a fooking MLS club for goodness sake!!!!!!!! tool although i bare very little resmblence to Trent Reznor, i thank you for the compliment. Because a player hasn't worked out elsewhere, if he's cost us nowt bar as CWP has said a low basic wage with decent appearance fee, then there is little harm in giving a player a chance
Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Will be too cowd for him. Brazilians dont tend to do well in the UK. Get a couple of good dirty Argies I say, together with long hair and 3 days stubble.

Chris T. Church Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Youri,N'Gotty,JJ werent released by a fooking MLS club for goodness sake!!!!!!!! tool He'll probably be sh!t but we did get Hierro from Al-Rayyan and he was class so anything is possible.
snackum Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Look..... if you don't buy a ticket etc etc Credit to the club for looking for answers to problems which most clubs try and solve by throwing vast sums of money around (AKA Sunderland!) Let's look at him. Just having him around the club may create a buzz on the training ground and hopefully the pitch.
Sweep Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 He'll probably be sh!t but we did get Hierro from Al-Rayyan and he was class so anything is possible. Now, I've often wondered abou thtis. Was Hierro actually "class" for us, or did he just have a couple of good games towards the end of the season?
Theboybell Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Now, I've often wondered abou thtis. Was Hierro actually "class" for us, or did he just have a couple of good games towards the end of the season? He was indeed class as an individual and that showed on the pitch for us on a number of occosions, That said he hardly played up to the christmas period and was transfer listed by big sam in January. i have fond memorys of him playing for us but i dont class him as have had such an impact as JJ and Youri did.
Gumbo Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Im sure that JJ and Hierro were old and past it as well and look what they did Bolton Wanderers need a new fans favourite and perhaps a little excitement at Rbk so why not give him a go? Think he's worth the risk!
THunter Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Now, I've often wondered abou thtis. Was Hierro actually "class" for us, or did he just have a couple of good games towards the end of the season? He had a poor first half of the season and a very good second half.
Sweep Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 He had a poor first half of the season and a very good second half. That's how I remember it, in fact he was pretty god awful when he first started playing for us...........I'll always remember him as a good player for Bolton Wanderers, but not a "class" one.

morphus77 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Now, I've often wondered abou thtis. Was Hierro actually "class" for us, or did he just have a couple of good games towards the end of the season? SEcond half of that season I would have no hesitation in calling him call for us. AS for Denilson - hope it comes off.
Chris T. Church Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 his ability and 'class' as a footballer were there for all to see in the second half of the season however i don't think he could be describes as a class player for us I disagree, never seen a player able to pass a ball as well as Hierro (be it 5 yards or 65). First half of season he got played at centre back plus he was playing in a new league against fast strikers. As soon as he went in to Campo's position you could tell why he was so highly rated and I just wish we had got him before he went to Qatar or kept him another year. Didn't have as much an impact as Youri or Jay Jay but I think that's only because of the length of time he was at the club. Never forget his last game either - great tribute when he got taken off.

YATESY Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Never forget his last game either - great tribute when he got taken off. Especially from the Everton players, who were getting a little miffed at the length of time the substitution was taking
