However since setting the question it has been correctly pointed out that Don Howe scored from the spot against the Scousers at Burnden Park in 47/48 So hats off to G/L Wanderer for a good answer even though Borrows and Redfearn scored their pens at Highfield Road and Oakwell respectively. And apologies for a minor spot of incorrect question setting.
