Northern Dancer Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Not stopped snowing here in east lancs since thursday, Really coming down outside at the mo. I live in a small village up near Pendle hill and the small roads leading in and out have never seen a gritter. Just been to Morrissons in Nelson and it was fecking dead. Did a good deed and got some shopping in for the old lady next door but one as her daughter couldn't get to her through the snow. Fuck the eco warrior types. I love my 4 X 4.
Ashey Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Thunder over astley bridge is sounding pretty aggressive... major snow storm... batten the hatches lads!

Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) up here in snow drift rossendale the roads into Burnley are only really navigable in a 4 x 4. passed the mountain rescue team loading someone into an ambulance at cloughbottom reservoir for those who know the area at bout 1pm in the middle of a blizzard. supposed to be another 12 hour downfall starting around 7pm tonite and the wind is supposed to get a lot stronger so drifts are likely. not seen this much snow since the early 90's. Global warming???? Are you marooned in Weir Traf? Edited December 20, 2009 by Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion

Henry_VIII Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 It's stopped for the time being here... bloody chilly though... by the way do Burnley have under soil heating? Edit- yeh they do... but then again if it snow's enough you never know... Its not just an unplayable pitch a game can be called off, the surrounding roads and safety in the stadiums are also factors.
frank_spencer Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Burnley's nearly a week away surely the Dave Wankline stadium is the main issue?

Traf Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Are you marooned in Weir Traf? No, I don't like purple. I've been in Manchester most of the weekend for a wedding. Left home at 8am yesterday and got hme about 4 today: it took me 2hrs to drive from Trafford to Rawtenstall, because the Mancs have never seen snow and don't know how to drive in it.
Sir_Francis Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 We've just made a snowman for the first time in years. Beltin. I too made a snowman in the front garden today. Took about 20 mins to make. Whilst admiring it through the window, I sees my next door neighbour making one. An hour later he's still pissing about with it. Must admit, the end product was pretty stunning. But..... what I'm trying to say is, he's put mine to shame! What an inconsiderate twat!
