jazza Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I am happy mr megson has gone but if given the choice of Megson, Jewell or Reid I would have stuck with Megson. It's like splitting up with a woman and waking up next to a munter.
Piemon Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 One day Bolton will come across a team with Megson in charge , and Bolton will absolutely smash his team 8-0 playing positive football. Such a rubbish 2009 ended with some cracking news! Thanks Gartside! but what took so long ::. Lincoln are in for it! If 2009 has been ruined by the football then you need to get a life, The news wont be so great if Paul Jewell comes in will it? fwiw i felt sorry for Mr Megson last night, not because i like him ive made my feeling perfectly clear but i just felt sorry for him. He was tacticly inept and couldnt get his players wound up for a game, oh and we couldnt defend but deep down (as im sure a few more on here do) i felt sorry for the man. Anyway onwards and upwards
Guest Blixa Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 We'll get another 'I know football' speech by Gartside after a bum appointment, completely oblivious that this very thing alienated both him and the manager last time round. I'll see you amongst the empty seats in the Championship. Well, some of you.

I for one am delighted at the news, but full of trepidation for what lies ahead. Whoever is appointed - just let's get behind him, start supporting the team again and see where it takes us.
Didledee Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 If 2009 has been ruined by the football then you need to get a life I meant 2009 has been rubbish for BWFC, not my life ::
Piemon Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I meant 2009 has been rubbish for BWFC, not my life :::: Thank fuck for that

Dont speak too soon mate rumour has it that Kenny Jacket has been seen in the club shop buying the dummies guide to the premier league! Fingers crossed for Hughes, if not i still think we will be much better off with Jewell than we would have been with Megson IMO.

If only that level of positivity had been shown with the recent departee...why is it ok to back *insert name of anyone* blindly, but not Megson? I can't see all the Megson haters will suddenly be up for cheering on a Paul Jewell side, especially if the results don't come and let's be honest, bookies are rarely too far out - he's coming.

Not a Megson hater myself, but after 35 years of support was finding it hard seeing the life sucked out of the club I have supported since being a little boy. The position following last night was clearly untenable. If you note my post, you will note I said I have great trepidation for what lies ahead - the grass is not always greener and all of that - but at least let's give it a go and see where it takes us. I see this is an opportunity for us as supporters of BWFC to get back to where we were, all behind the team, the Reebok a place where other teams did not like to play, and us all moving in the same direction as fans, players and management. Keep the faith, COYWM
athywhite1958 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I have herd that Hunt is on ?28k a week, McCann is on ?32k a week. That comes from a good source as well. Well your source is shit, NH is on around ?18 - ?20k per week, that comes from the lads he turns out with. At tye end of the day, does it really matter how much lads like him are earning, I say good luck to the cunt (don't forget he screwed 10 of us for tickets in Munich)
beer_swiller Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I sincerely hope it aint Paul Jewel, even though he does tick every box on Gartsides list. I would have rather stuck with Megson than Jewel. Who ever comes in wont please all the fans but at least the Reebok will be full eh?
Sir_Francis Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 fwiw i felt sorry for Mr Megson last night, not because i like him ive made my feeling perfectly clear but i just felt sorry for him. Don't feel sorry for him mate. This is a guy who drives a nice car, has a nice house, eats at all the best restaurants, holidays at the best destinations, has millions of pounds in the bank etc etc. I don't think his life is anything to be sorry about.

His final parting shot towards the fans in the sky interview, lost any sorrow i had for him. Never once did he blame himself.
Guest bwfcdan Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I'll be so pissed off if Jewell gets the job...
Guest Blixa Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Interesting piece in the Guardian saying Megson is/was pulling in ?700,000 a year, the next manager apparently will not be getting as much - which will rule out Mark Hughes. They're all over Reid and Jewell.
eaststandlower Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 in light of what has happened i am glad the wigan game was called off now thats 3 points we now may be able to get rather than 3 we would have stood no chance of getting.

BoltonPro15 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 like many others i welcomed the sacking of megson. for me it was one of those "where were you?" moments. I was on a bike at the gym. Anyway, all eyes will be on PG to see if he can select a worthy man. Lets face it he failed with Lee (claimed that he was a better manager than Sam Allardyce). Then failed with Megson, "people who know fottball......etc. for me NOT reid, tried and failed before at many levels, nice bloke and obviously close to S.A, maybe too close for PG's liking, but being a former Bolton player may be popular with some. Heart ruling head IMO. Please not Jewel, He did a decent job for a year at wigan and then crashed at Derby. Hughes won't come here no chance. I would like to see Owen Coyle personally, he seems to possess a strong personality plays good football at Burnley and is of course an ex wanderer, so i can sing one of my favourite chants "one o in coyle" But all in all a happy day, however the next appointment could make or break us

waffer cup 07 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Not sure if Mark Hughes would be the right man for the job even if he wanted it. Given our defensive problems he didn't exactly do a great job of building a defence at City even with unlimited funds.
HomerJay Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) all these choices of top class managers banging at the door. PG really has his work cut out, picking from such a cracking list. Edited December 30, 2009 by HomerJay
cb58 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Please not Jewell Please not Zenga Please not Reid Please not Coppell Please not Souness Please not Irvine Please not any other ex manager that has been sacked at a prem club Ok with Darrren Ferguson Ok with Curbishley Ok with Erikkson (wouldnt come anyway) Ok with Houllier (wouldnt come anyway) Ok with Chris Coleman (always liked him so no abuse please) Ok with Steve Maclaren (woudnt come anyway) Ok with Coyle (wouldnt come anyway) Commit suicide if Burley, Roeder,Keegan turn up What about John Collins What about Rioch & Todd again as they never finished off the job they started ( both out of work) only a thought What about Gary Speed for a different approach Mark Hughes for me !!!!!!!!!!!!
The Moose Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 What about Ruud Gullitt. He could do a job for us.
