Recent Filums I've Watched

Book of Eli - Denzel Washington - took two attempts to watch it all the way through - a bit of a duff Mad Max type film. Watchable. 4/10

Green Zone - Matt Damon - enjoyed it, always like films based out in Middle East, etc. 7/10

Planet 51 - was enjoying it til I nodded off, kids liked it - must be good. 6/10

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - see above - 6/10

Good Will Hunting - Matt Damon/Robin Williams - look, there was fook all else on this Saturday just gone, never seen it before - quite enjoyed - the scene were Robin Williams was going on about his late wife farting in bed had me in tears - half decent. Oh, and Minnie Driver looked far better than I can ever remember. 7/10

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - its Swedish so no famous actors/actresses - great thriller - didn't bother me that it was in subtitles great revenge scene on the pervy Probation Officer- looking forward to the 2nd in the trilogy in the next week or so - well worth the watch and highly recommended. 9/10

That's me, Jonathan Woss, over and out.

Paris, Texas was on t'other night, for the first time since I relented and joined the ghastly riff-raff with big tellies and bought one mesen.

Excellent - a classic.

It was followed, unrelated, by a film called 'Una', which was bizarre and disconcerting at points.

About a victim of grooming (Rooney Mara) confronting, in adulthood, her abuser (Ben Mendelsohn).

I almost switched off several times. It became obvious early on it was a play adaptation.

It also became obvious early on the; playwright, screenplay writer and director were blokes. I know works are supposed to provoke debate and push buttons but several scenes were appallingly handled.

Mara's (adult) character for example has a shower at one point, showing everything, for no discernible reason and totally unrelated to plot. She's a cracking body which, given the nature of the film, seems a bloody waste, imagine being caught leering over her..?

I reckon', without checking, Mrs Phoenix (she's married to him - Tobias that is) is one of those actresses who have 'necessary to plot' nudity in every film they're in.

I've read she'll be getting her kit off in the upcoming 'Mary Poppins' remake - in which she plays the titular role.

I’d have a hard time not having Django in my top 3 QT films

Don't forget inglourious basterds, which would be 4th in my list behind kill Bill, pulp fiction and reservoir dogs

I might even put it above reservoir dogs thinking about it

The tension in that opening scene is top notch

Can't believe I missed Inglorious Basterds, would probably put that 5th on the list

I'm on my holidays so decided to do fuck all today. Flicking through the channels and found a film just starting on itv4. The Sting. Fairly old (1973) set in the 30's. Easy to watch and a pretty decent film I've never seen before.

Watching bad boys for the first time. Why have I never seen this before?!

Was ok. Seemed like a huge shitshow like BHD. As in US military fuck up.

Went watching A Quiet Place Part 2 last night. Loved it. Brilliant sequel.

Just finished watching. The position of their base was fucked up. Unbelievable really.

The guy running around in a PE kit is the sort of guy you want on your side.

Good watch.

Watched Nobody last night, was good.

Good watch.

Presuming the lead guy is Clint’s son. Played a good part.
The position of their base made no sense at all to me.
It reminded me of Rorke’s Drift and Zulu.

The one in the total nuddy, straight out of the shower and shooting at the enemy!

Dunno I that was just artistic license, but that should have scared of the towel heads on its own!

Watched The Outpost on Amazon prime, not a bad film, based on true events, it was a bit like the Taliban version of Zulu but not as good of course.

On your recommendation I watched it. What a bag of shite!

It was like watching someone play first-person shooting games on a PC but as a third-person. Cheap and low budget camerawork.

Cruella is pretty entertaining pitching her as punk rebel against established design queen.

Good 60s and 70s tunes throughout

The Tomorrow War on Amazon Prime, it's not the worst film I've ever seen (only because Aquaman will always hold that title) but it's pretty close. Utter, utter shit. 1/10
