I've watched Red Dragon and Menace 2 Society all the way through this week.

Dr Faustus; film buff

Both brilliant.

Watched that 2017 "Papillon" remake earlier. I was expecting to hate it as I'm a massive fan of the classic Steve McQueen/Dustin Hoffman version, but it was surprisingly good. A lot more faithful to the book too.

Might look into that, like yourself a massive fan of the original that proved that McQueen was a decent actor and not just a 'action movie' star.

Just had a five film Bruce Lee blu-ray film fest, they look amazing though had problems setting up the original European theatrical versions as there's so many options. (And my knowledge of Cantonese and Mandarin are non existent)

Also The Tooth Fairy was a truely scary character and a worthy opponent for Will Graham.

Red Dragon was a good film but a bit too fancy schamcy for my liking.

Chaos Walking. What a mess.

Started in 2017 and allegedly 125M budget starring Tom Holland and Daisy maid from Star Wars and still manages to look like episode of Walking Dead.

on now Dr Strangelove

Sky Greats

Did you know Peter Sellers' last line was ad-libbed because he accidentally got out of his wheelchair.

Also think it was Spike Milligna, that well known comedian, novelist, poet, script-writer, humanitarian and typing error that suggested the film should end with a pie fight.

Interestingly its about true events, but I think the film company who made the film deny it.

That’s horrendous if it is

It is one of my favourites. I remember watching it in the cinema sometime in the 90s, it never seemed to get too much coverage or hype.

Another good one of a similar ilk is “Murder in the First”, I can’t remember whether that’s based on a true prison story too

I’ll add it to my list

Just poured a vodka and watching fear and loathing for the first time. Might do sleepers tomorrow

Fear and loathing you’ll either love it or hate it. I’ve done my fair share of hallucinogenics so I love it

I need to revisit it

Started years back, probably stoned, thought I'd like it, didn't
