Superb find!! Obviously I’d love my Dad to be still alive (sadly at 105 it would be wishful thinking) but it’s stuff like this that rings so many bells about stuff he told me By 1945 he’d be

Actually yeah QPR, Looking up into the corners of the ground you can see seats not even facing the pitch.

Theres quite a few like that at Dortmund too. Paid a fortune to stare into the next stand!

In that cage at Marsellie wasnt the best till we moved into the overflow bit.

used to get neck ache at grundy hill looking up at the pitch. no wonder horwichers are strange.

I stood in the shallow end and looked down on the pitch

They down on everyone in Howrich.

QPR back of lower tier

I nearly broke my hand when I jumped up to celebrate us scoring one year. Lowest roof ever.

If you stood near the fence at Burnden you were practically below pitch level.

Behind the goal front row of the etihad the same, can't see the goal line as the ad boards come up too high

And I got sunburnt, was shite

Great prediction Jim!

McGinglay's first goal there....you don't see many finishes like that side footed as a half volley

It's uncomplicated. A real goalscorer's finish

Watch that and if you don't think anyone from Bolton who isn't' a Wanderer is a weak willed cunt then bugger off.

Not strictly Bolton but it would have been funny if the kid had crocked him not realizing who he was:

Interesting use of the term "not strictly Bolton"

The link to Bolton isn't even tenuous.

Don't watch it then. That'll show him.

There's a load of 'strictly' BWFC related stuff in the BFI archive. Matches at Hull, Chelsea and Blackpool from 1975-77. Not sure if they're going to upload it to their site or not. Apparently the game v Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in August 1974 was also filmed. I'm not sure if it was for a news report after the events before the game, or the actual game itself.

The game itself was filmed, think it was Granada.

The brother of the deceased from that day actually lives close to many of us now and runs a business adjacent to the Bridgewater in Worsley, a mate of mine works for him, very small world.

I think these days he will be a bald headed rum fucker :-)

I remember that lad with long hair. Game as fuck.

Did himself proud on black sunday.

Is he not the lead singer for Simply Red?

Them Rioch days I can just watch all day, quality times.

The Rioch days came at the end of a long and mainly depressing time for BWFC we had struggled with crowds of 5-6000 for many years and the joy of a full Burnden Park and some success was something to behold, joyous scenes and what an atmosphere and only 20,000 fans on proves its not the number of fans its the passion that makes it.

The guy stood at the front of the seats after we score with his arms out like Jesus?

That's weasel from over this way. Bumped into him on the way to brum home last season. He's been in Namibia for years on some school builds project.

so true Mounts,I know the club needs the premier league cash but for me they can stick it.
