I agree. It maybe that Allardyce is a better manager than coyle, but they wouldn't give Sam the money to take us on. Hence being left with ageing stars on shit loads of money. Plus in Sams last season we had 39 points going into the new year and won 4 out of the last 18. That's pretty shit also

Say the board gave Sam a load of cash, do you really think it would've made a difference and we would be in the champs league regularly?

Money has little to do with it, the manager and many of thd players have a fucking lot to answer for. Our current form, away especially, is simply unacceptable even for a team like us. Dropping Wheater, playing Elmander in midfield, signing Petrov and Alonso (?), persisting with Jussi, all questionable decisions.

I think that Coyle will not be here beyond next season.

A quick flash in the pan, shows what he can (dogmatic) and will flit for a Newcastle/Sunderland to begin the cycle again

A team like us although in the prem for a decade has been fighting relegation for the last 3 years so I look upon this season as progress. I agree the away form is alarmingly shite but shit happens. It maybe that I have mellowed over the years and don't get as pissed off as I used to when we lose. We have been safe for a long time and as many have said the players are on holiday and no form of man management can change this

You could see that Blackpool were well up for it because they had to win. The psychology of a player plays a massive part. The extra couple of percent effort makes a massive difference in football

And if the positions and motivations had been reversed, the excuse for losing would have been : well Blackpool could relax and play their football and we were under too much pressure.

And I repeat : ONE major player missing should not mean the rest of the team collapse.

In some ways I agree with this, although part of it benefits from hindsight. Knight has been excellent for us and rightly came back in. He's just not looked the part since the injury. Most of us would have put him back in after injury though.

Lack of cover is Coyle's fault. We looked thin over Christmas and did nothing about it in January. We're getting battered for it now, not least because we can't drop out of form / inconsistent players.

It's not just one major player missing it's a lack of form from a number of players and has been said we can't replace the out of form players or freshen it up with anyone. Small squad eventually caught up with us

Also we didn't have any effin money to sign shit loads of players in jan. We signed a striker and defender which was needed. You couldn't have predicted long term injuries to Holden, ricketts and mavies

I agree, Coyle has to show how good a manager he is in the closed season. If he isn't any good, he'll be gone by Christmas. I don't envy his task (other than the ?20K per week he is probably earning)

Oh dear let's get on the managers back and get someone else in again. Until they do shit and we are onto the next one. Long term plans are what is needed to build a team not 18 months of which I see is progress

zat night is one of the worst centre backs i have seen at bolton in over 40 years and i have seen some bad uns, excellent my arse, the sooner it dawns on coyle in particular the better, he has been shit everywhere he has been hence the knightmare tag, find it staggering how people cant see it. if wheater cant get in before him there is something seriously wrong.

It would also seem on the other side of the coin he can't do anything wrong and NOTHING is his fault. He's a poor motivator, poor in the transfer market, his brand of football isn't up to much and he hasn't got a fucking clue how to organise a defence. I think we are stuck with him but the future isn't particularly rosy.

Just watched the game again and it's noticeable how much Blackpool played on the ground thus avoiding Knights power in the air, at least two of there goals came from him not being tight enough on his man whereas IMO Wheater would have been better

poor motivator ???

transfer market ?? holden and sturridge...good signings....petrov and blake waste of time......jury out on that.

i would say he has a lot to learn and as the sign said 'he is nt the messiah'

Hopefully he is going to learn that how we play does not work away from home (i have said this all season)

His big issue this season has been setting expectations by the over performance early doors, not sure anyone would have moaned with top half and cup semi final at start of the season.

He is a leader, and people need to remember how bad it was under the ginger one and cole has turned that round. some people (not you carlos) have to moan at someone and it is fucking pathetic.

Agree with you, and regarding knight are people confusing him with Steinson? As yesterday was one of the worst full back displays I have ever witnessed and that does not help the centre halfs if they are constantly having to cover, regarding Coyle his biggest fault is his insistence in playing 442 even when we clearly do not have the personnel, next season I expect he will try to sign players who can fit that system, also feel he will drop Jussi from first choice and that will help strengthen what has become a leaking sieve.

A superb season. Top 10 finish and an FA Cup Semi Final.

Absolutely magnificent achievement with a lack of resources and one of the lowest supported teams in the league.

Well done OC, hope you are here for the long term to build on this.
