Spot on, people blaming PG what's that all about are they that ignorant, PG has little say on spending as its Eddies money, and without Eddie, we would most likely be watch division 2 football, sometimes I despair as to how ill informed some people are.

If he dos nt spend in the summer then division 2 is where we are heading, and if we do get relegated and people are protesting on the car park who will the protests be aimed at.

If you dont invest in a buisness then eventually it will fail and the buck stops at the top.

with insight such as this, i'm sure phil gartside and eddie davis will be happy to take lessons in how to run a business from you

Comical thread.

Can we now accept he is not the messiah, he is still learning. He does make mistakesand He has certainly a long way to go.

But Nor is anybody preparing any bedsheets. Mainly because those simpletons are mesmerised by his charm luckily. But it doesn't mean people cant criticise when necessary.

interview after the game

coyle said "jussi didnt make a save"

was it a dig or was it the only chances they had were goals?

probably adding 2 + 2 and getting 5

but I did wonder

if it was a dig, he's delusional and not facing up to hs role in us getting beat

fwiw, if i was very critical, he may have done better on the first

other than that, playing without a defence makes it tricky for the keeper

Am I reading this right? Is someone calling Eddie a wight wad?

Partly so. I think it's more calling Eddie a tightwad who doesn't know how to run a business.

I'll see if I can have a word at the player of the year do, and put him right. before I get too pissed.

more accurately, i think its calling garty a tightwad, despite the fact it isn't his money

Agreed, thank God for Eddie.

Coyle hasn't had to sell unlike a few before him.

tbh eddie is lending Bolton money at 10% interest he is growing his own portfolio to a point that Bolton are funding it. Ghis when the man bought the club ( more or less) for 2 million.

We're all getting way too analytical here. Can't we just let the dust settle on a successful season (I defy any fooker to class this season as anything other than successful for a club of our means) before we start dissecting the pros and cons of our manager/chairman/owner?

We'd be far better off sitting back, enjoying the contentment of something way beyond premier league survival and just observing the comings and goings through the close season.

FFS, we've already got one bloke talking about fooking bedsheets and car park protests when we are in division Two!

Funny farm Easter home leave inmates who are now AWOL, I suspect.

He is using his money wisely and is collecting a nice interest on his money but he has funded the new Academy out of his own pocket, and who is to say that the interest he is earning on the money he borrows is not being put to one side for the long term good of BWFC, that would not suprise me,he is a generous benefactor of many causes, if he stays around for a few more years and collects 10 million in interest each year in 10 years he would be in a position to pay the debt down without dipping into his own money.

I was nt critisising eddie davies we would be in the shit without his money and he is a life long fan , i was simply defending coyle . i take it your happy with the squad.

Lets stick to the facts here.

The run of away form is the the worst run in the football clubs history.

The form since NYD has been relegation form, less than a point a game.

Wembley was a farce.

OC has not been able to motivate the players since.

Have we made progress under OC?

Questionable, but if so only marginal at best.

If he doesn't sort away form out then there is no doubt we will be in a relegation scrap next year IMO.

Well said, Bolty.

I'm really disappointed at how many players have lost form since November (including Holden before he was injured), and some of the surrenders recently (especially Wembley) have been truly awful. I'm also worried about how thin the squad looks, and disppointed about slipping from a season-long 7th/8th to mid-table.

BUT ....

46 points, mid-table, some cracking home games and a run to the FA Cup semi-final spell a decent season at least.

Let's speculate on possible (realistic) transfer movements in & out by all means - otherwise what would we all do for the summer. But otherwise sit back and see what ED/PG/OC can do to strengthen for next season, and what system OC uses, before we all man the lifeboats.

Just saying like ....

Blake was signed with little intention of getting a game, when coyle came in he noticed a lack of camaraderie in the dressing room, he brought Blake in on a small (by prem standards) wage for his experience and his demeanour.

Managing a football club the size of Bolton is more than just getting results on a match day.

Brilliant. Might I suggest next season we just get the Chuckle Brothers in on matchdays to save a few bob? Oh yes - and ditch Petrov's sulky chops.

It would have been better if the results and performances were flipped around, we had a great start, but since December we've been so up and down, these losses are putting a slight dampner on the season especially along with the semi final humiliation, if we ended like we started, then that gives more confidence going into next season.

Guess your not a half glass full man, if you think there has been no progress under coyle you must have been on the moon, the atmosphere around the club, good young players now want to play for us, and some blinding entertaimnent and brilliant results at home at least, oh and a top half finish and safe from relegation for weeks, backs up my view.

Toon and Spurs at home were like no better than Brazil

selective facts....

we reached semi final of cup

and will finish top half

more time sniffing round euro positions than relegation

Can you imagine going to the match with him sat on one side, and anewman on the other ?

:D

Anyway, whilst I'm a bit gutted to see our season go into a sort of freefall, I'm very relieved not to be in amongst the bottom 6 clubs!

But, looking ahead, we have now lost 6 guaranteed points for next season, thanks to West Ham!

No it isn't.When John McGovern was manager we lost all of his last 15 away leagus matches

57 points available at home

57 points available away

With no injuries to key players I'd say we'll get about 35-45 points at home and about 10-15 points away. We hardly ever have great away form, I can't see it being as bad next season though, we are great at home, so I'd expect about 70-30 in our favour for average points, we're not great away but hopefully we'll learn from this season and make it about 35-65 against.

We just need to look at Cup results to know we can win games away.

In 2006-2007 if we matched the 1st half of the season in the 2ndhalf, we would have been Champions League.

This season if we matched the 1st half of the season in the 2ndhalf, we would have been in Europe.

On the flip side, if we matched our 2nd half in the 1st in both seasons, possible relegation would have been a reality.
