ericsnookes Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Skysports.com can confirm that Nigel Reo-Coker has travelled to the North West for talks with Bolton Wanderers. Reo-Coker departed Aston Villa in the summer and a number of Premier League clubs have since made contact. The former West Ham star has also been linked with a move to the continent with Italian, German, Spanish and French clubs showing an interest - but a move in England now appears more likely. Bolton have emerged as front-runners and Reo-Coker is now set to hold talks with The Trotters. Bolton are looking to complete a number of deals in the coming weeks with Barcelona winger Jeffren firmly in Owen Coyle's sights. Coyle has also been strongly linked with a double swoop on his former club Burnley with Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears said to be their way to The Reebok Stadium
kent_white Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Good solid signing in my opinion. Holden, Muamba, Davies, Pratley and Reo Coker sounds like a decent set of midfield options to me.
HomerJay Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I'm happy with reo Coker. Not sure if it's what we need but sound enough.
Walkden26 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Good solid signing in my opinion. Holden, Muamba, Davies, Pratley and Reo Coker sounds like a decent set of midfield options to me. It seems reasonable so long as one of Holden or Mavies is fit at any one time. Without one of those two it lack a creative edge! Keep Muamba away as well - awful!

birch-chorley Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) Good solid signing in my opinion. Holden, Muamba, Davies, Pratley and Reo Coker sounds like a decent set of midfield options to me. I would think that there is one too many in there considering we play 4 4 2 and will only play 2 at any one time. I can see Muamber on his way at this rate, Stoke where linked with him a while back for around the ?8m mark. Yes please! Glass half full me!

I dont think that he is shit but if ?5m was on the table I would drive him there my self. Got six centre midfielders at the moment the money could do alot in other areas.
Casino Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 and another thing i think reo coker would be good for us but he's got the most odious of agents worse than mckay
jules_darby Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I'd not sell Muamba for ?5m But then I'd not sell him anyway as I'm one of the few that rate him Happy to have coco pops onboard too
Burndens Bogs Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Wasn't Nigel Real Choker one of the West Ham "superstars" that we sent down in 2003? I remember Joe Cole Jermaine Defoe David James Glen Johnson Or did i just dream the Reo Coker bit?

superkev Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I'd not sell Muamba for ?5m But then I'd not sell him anyway as I'm one of the few that rate him Happy to have coco pops onboard too What is it it that makes you rate him. I am aware of his "breaking up play" but he rarely did that last season. He is a liability when he gets the ball and we don't need that at all. His passing is dreadful at best. Never contributes much and needs to be out of the team. I used to defend him but he has got gradually worse as the seasons have passed

itk_FACT Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Don't understand why we need another Muamba. Could it be Coyle is planning to line up more defensively away from home?
jules_darby Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 We've done Muamba to death but he's had sooooo much ground to cover especially after Holden's injury, he was bound to be shagged and not at his best at the end of the season He can frustrate, but we need someone like him for me
tarian1979 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Don't understand why we need another Muamba. Could it be Coyle is planning to line up more defensively away from home? Lets hope so after last seasons away points total!
jimmyjoojar Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 He was terrible last season. Id use him as a man marker in a 4 5 1 away from home, in a 4 4 2, no thanks Folk have blinked and forgot more about football than you'll ever understand.

HomerJay Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 As he's now signed, can I just say "cracking signing this one" Watch him turn out shite and mears as player of the season now...
jazza Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I am not enthralled by his signing. Never been greatly impressed, but deifinately better than Gregorz Raziak if I had to put a positive slant on it!
