Bolton 1 Wigan 2

Truly massive game for both teams next week, I aint looking forward to it and would settle for any rag arse win, if we win it I really fancy us to get out of the mess were in, if we don't I will be very very worried.

If he isn't shown athe door after that, what would he have to do to get the sack?

phil gartisde spent the whole of the last 20 minutes of the game in the area facing scotts behind the chairmans suite.

not watching the game, just simply staring out of the window....

That's the only thing that I've read in the last 24hrs that has given me any hope ...

Just managed to watch goals on Sunday

Mavies was highlighted as not tracking his man for their winner.

Inexcusable yes as mavies was given a certain role on the team

But the situation could quite easily have avoided mr coyle.

Petrov was also shit. He had 3 corners in the first half and failed to beat the near post man. Anyone could have been brought off today. Coyle chose them two and neither can have any complaints.

Rubbish

First 10 minutes and petrov is looking a big threat

Then Wigan realise they can walk straight through the middle of the park so boss the midfield and we're not getting out wide anymore

All 3 of coyles subs, in an attempt to change the game, didn't address the fact that Wigan were on top in the middle of the pitch and hence they did not change the game

I honestly thought Coyle had sussed out what was required in the middle when he went 4-5-1 and stopped playing Pratley, but now I just think he got lucky at Everton and has been dying for an excuse to play 4-4-2 again and drop muamba, which presumably he got when the lad turned up late

I now think we'll go 4-5-1 at Chelsea and City, get nowt obviously, which will be enough for Coyle to presume that 4-4-2 is the answer and okay it again at home to QPR, where we'll not win

How is this known? Has he tweeted this. I can't imagine anyone stood outside watching him.

Gonzo's dad or someone was in the chairmans suite yesterday

correct mate.

my old man saw him leave the viewing area and go and stand in the room facing scott and simply stood there staring out of the window.

even after the game he was reluctant to speak to anyone and remained staring out of the window.

wigans chief exec went over and shook his hand and patted him on the back and gartside just shook his head.

Depends on what your definition of threatning is. If its get all your crosses blocked and put in three terrible corners, then yeah he was a real threat. Didn't once beat boyce, who is a crap right back.

I didn't agree with the subs either. My point was nobody who got took off could complain about it because everyone was garbage in the first half.

Coyle was never switching back to 451 once we were one down. His subs had little impact as we were playing the wrong system. Somebody has to come off though.

I dont blame any player for that performance, all on coyle.

I blame wheater and mavies for the goals

Petrov was the only player getting in behind their defence in the first half, I was gobsmacked that he had taken him off.

If we can play him on the left and Japaneasy on the right both getting in behind with 3 in central midfield then we will have a chance.

Coyle thinks that at home to a 'lesser team' 4-5-1 is negative. Which I can agree with to an extent. Therefore he plays 4-4-2 which again I can agree with.

The problem is though. 4-5-1 with our wingers is basically 4-3-3 which isn't negative. When he play 4-4-2 with them wingers we're playing 4-2-4. Probably more like 4-1-5 with how indisiplined M. Davies is.

It so blatantly obvious the guy doesn't understand the game of football. 4-2-4 has never and never will be a successful formation in any form of football never mind the prem.

I'm pretty confident that none of us know what he thinks. I'm fairly sure he doesn't either. It's increasingly looking like Keegan in charge of England, a battle of positive and wishful thinking versus any kind of thought out tactics.

My definition, in this instance, is that he was the only player taking the ball into the final third and looking to do something with it

His first cross into the box caused panic resulting in a corner that could quite easily have been an own goal as the Wigan player shit himself and didn't know how to clear it

Other crossss led to corners, some led to nothing

As I recall they were the only moments in the first half we looked a "threat" to Wigan's goal

Hence, he was our most threatening player

Guessing coyle thought as those threats amounted to nothing perhaps it was that position that needed addressing at half time, when we all know really it wasnt really

Surely either Steinsson or Knight should be equally culpable for 2nd as they both went for.the same header that it all started from.

We played shit, Wigan were better but even so both goals were down to wretched defending.

Perhaps he was looking to see whether Muamba had arrived yet.

True that

We were shit but Wigan didn't create many chances; watching the Wolves vs Baggies game and West Brom have already created twice as many as Wigan did - out defence is just shocking

where was sordell anyway? has he got some eye injury? edgar davids played his entire career with a fucking snorkelling mask on and we cant sort out our only reming hope with one. im still absolutely furious incase you havent noticed.

I just don't like our fans tradition of ganging up on certain players and hounding them out. Eagles has had more good games than bad, but there seems to be a groundswell of opinion that focuses on him, when he has a bad game.

Today, for example, was a poor team performance all round.

One of too many, and we will go down in my opinion.

Who to blame?

You can only look at the boss.

I will agree with QPR (A), Wigan (A), Stoke (H) & Liverpool (H). Every other game has passed him by.

4 good games in 25, imo.

Not a scapegoat, just a lightweight, average championship player.

The thing is, not only do we look more solid with 4-5-1, we also look far more dangerous. This is the part I can't get my head around.

That's because we actually retain the ball with 4-5-1. Couldn't get it yesterday.

Spot on, thought we looked a class act against arsenal, the players looked comfortable, and we looked like a top half team,

It is very interesting to see those members that hardly post and have been with us for years finally voicing their opinions which goes to show there is something dramatically wrong. Whether it's OC or the players, formation for the whole lot, we do need to support the lads when the cross the line onto the field of play. Yesterday was pretty poor from the fans. Whatever happened to the days when we sang the great escape tune and getting behind the players 100% have those days long gone?

...and according to someone on here Arsenal 'could have had six'.

We rode our luck at times, and arsenal will create chances against anyone, but we held in their and the last 20 mins were the best team.

I disagree, was more like 4, but they didn't

They did bum us in the first half but second half we got better and could've won it last 20, but didn't

None of this distracts from the fact we were fucking rubbish yesterday
